Clinical Study On The Correlation Between Pterygium And Anterior Chamber Angle Structure

Objective:To study the effect of pterygium on the structure of anterior chamber Angle.Method:114 patients with primary pterygium diagnosed in our hospital's outpatient department from August 2018 to February 2019 were collected.Pterygium eye was selected as the observation group,and normal contralateral eye was selected as the control group.Pterygium eye was photographed with slit lamp microscope,and according to Tan classification [1],the observation group was divided into three groups according to the length and distance of the cornea invaded by pterygium.less than one-third of the corneal diameter(grade 1),the pupil(grade 2),and the pupil area(grade 3).In order to reduce the systematic error caused by the machine,two instruments,anterior segment optical coherence tomography(AS-OCT)and Ultrasound Biomicroscopy(UBM),were used to quantitatively measure the relative parameters of pterygium Angle opening degree.and that of the opposite side of eye and nose Angle opening degree The parameters observed by AS-OCT were SSA,AOD500,AOD750,TISA500 and TISA750.The parameters observed by UBM are ACA500 and AOD500.Results the correlation parameters were analyzed.Independent sample t test was used between the observation group and the control group.One-way anova was used to compare the observation groups.P < 0.05 was considered statistically significant.Results:The 114 patients ranged in age from 34 to 77 years,with an average age of 50.84 years.There were 66 female patients(57.8%)and 48 male patients(42.2%).Among the 1 group of pterygium patients 54(47.3%),there was no statistically significant difference in the parameters of AS-OCT and UBM between the observation group and the control group(P>0.05).Thirty-eight(33.3%)patients in the two groups were treated with pterygium,and there was no significant difference in the parameters of AS-OCT and UBM between the observation group and the control group(P>0.05).Among the 3 groups of pterygium patients,22(19.2%)were included.There was no statistically significant difference between the observation group and the control group in the parameters of AS-OCT and UBM(P>0.05).The differences of AS-OCT and UBM parameters between the observation group and the three groups were not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion:pterygium has no effect on the structure of anterior chamber Angle.,but not with the pterygium itself.
