Objective:To analyze the incidence, mortality and survival rate of thyroid cancer in Zhejiang pro'vince from 2011 to 2015,and to explore the risk factors of thyroid cancer in Zhejiang province and provide a theoretical basis for the development of thyroid cancer prevention strategy. Methods:Thyroid cancer(ICD10=C73)incidence,mortality data and follow-up data(diagnosed in 2005-2010)during 2011 to 2015 were extracted from cancer registry databases. The SAS 9.2 statistical software and Excel 2010 were used to calculate the crude incidence/mortality,standardized lncidence/mortality,age-specific incidence/mortality,cumulative incidence/mortality,truncated incidence/mortality.Trend Chi-square test was used to analyze the trend of incidence and mortality of thyroid cancer.Observed survival rate(OS)and relative survival rate(RS)were estimated by life-table method and Hakulinen's method with Surv3.01 software. With a 1:1 case-control design,2937 pairs of thyroid cancer cases and controls were recruited in this study.Relevant information was collected by questionnaire and influencing factors were explored via univariate and multivariate conditional logistic regression analysis. Results:The crude incidence of thyroid cancer was 29.03/100.000 in Zhejiang during 2011 to 2015(males 13.11/100,000,females 45.27/100,000).The incidence in urban and in rural areas was 39.69/100.000 and 23.12/100,000 respectively. From 2011 to 2015.the incidence of thyroid cancer increased from 15.12/100.000 to 39.40/100,000.The death rate of thyroid cancer was 0.46/100,000 in Zhejiang during 2011 to 2015(males 0.36/100.000.females 0.56/100,000).The mortality of thyroid cancer in urban and in rural areas were 0.49/100.000 and 0.44/100.000 respectively. From 2011 to 2015,the mortality of cancer increased from 0.42/100,000 to 0.45/100.000.The five-year RS for thyroid cancer was 94.90%(males 92.44%,females 95.55%;urban area 95.82%.rural area 93.98%).Multivariate conditional logistic regression analysis showed that the family history of thyroid cancer, poor sleep, living or working close to the factory, history of occupational exposure, more than 30 minutes on the phone time every day, history of the CT examination every year, poor emotional regulation, depression, trauma, overweight, central obesity w'ere associated with increased risk of thyroid cancer;Higher education level, history of diabetes, alcohol drinking, tea intake, and occupational physical activity were associated with decreased risk of thyroid cancer. Conclusions:The incidence of thyroid cancer has grown at a rate of 27.05%per year in Zhejiang province.Females and urban residents are at higher risks to developing thyroid cancer than males and rural residents. The overall mortality increased as well and was higher in females than in males,as well as in urban residents than in rural residents.Thyroid cancer in Zhejiang has a long survival time and the 5-year survival rate was high. But the survival rate of thyroid cancer was lower in the elder and there were no significant differences among genders and different areas. The family history of-thyroid cancer, poor sleep, living or working close to the factory, history of occupational exposure, more than 30 minutes on the phone time every day.history of the CT examination every year, poor emotional regulation, depression, trauma, overweight, central obesity were associated with increased risk of thyroid cancer;Higher education level, history of diabetes, alcohol drinking, tea intake, and occupational physical activity were associated with decreased risk of thyroid cancer.
