| Objective:To investigate the expression difference of GTSE1 in gastric cancer(GC)tissues and corresponding adjacent normal gastric(ANG)tissues.To analyze the association of GTSE1 expression with clinical pathological characteristics and clinical prognosis in GC patients.Methods:The expression situation of GTSE1 mRNA and protein in 12 paired fresh GC tissues and ANG tissues were respectively detected by qRT-PCR and Western Blot(WB)assay.A retrospective analysis of 56 patients with gastric cancer treated from December 2011 to February 2012 was performed.The relationship between the expression levels of GTSE1 protein detected by immunohistochemistry(IHC)test and clinical pathological characteristics in the patients was analyzed by Person X~2 test.COX regression model was used to evaluate the prognostic factors of GC patients.Results:The expression levels of GTSE1 mRNA and protein in GC tissues were significantly higher than that in ANG tissues(both p<0.05).The high expression of GTSE1 protein was related to tumor size,degree of differentiation,depth of tumor invasion,lymph node metastasis,and TNM staging(both p<0.05).COX regression model analysis manifested that GTSE1 can be an independent prognostic factor for GC patients.Conclusion:(1)GTSE1 may be closely related to the occurrence and development of gastric cancer,which is characterized by abnormally high level expression in gastric cancer tissues.(2)Overexpression of GTSE1 protein is closely related to clinical outcomes such as poor clinical prognosis and tumor invasion,lymph node metastasis,pathological differentiation,and TNM staging.(3)GTSE1 expression levels can be used as an independent predictor of predicting patient outcomes. |
