The exploration of the pathogenesis of mental illness and the study of functional mutations in genes have been an important research direction in mental diseases.Mental illness can cause many inconveniences to patients and can cause dysfunction in cognitive function and motor behavior. At present, most researchers and doctors support that the incidence of mental illness is caused by environmental factors and genetic factors, but the pathogenesis of mental illness is still unclear. From a genetic point of view, according to different genetic methods,it can be divided into single gene,multi-gene,mitochondrial inheritance and chromosomal genetic diseases. For the determination of genetic mechanisms of neurological diseases, molecular genetic research methods can be used for disease occurrence. And the exploration of development mechanisms.Mental illness not only brings inconvenience to patients, but also imposes a heavy burden on families and society. At present, the diagnosis of schizophrenia, major depressive disorder, and bipolar disorder has no clear quantitative physiological and biochemical indicators. The diagnosis and classification of diseases are based on the clinical experience of psychiatrists and the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.Certified.The conduction of neural information has an important influence on the formation of neural circuits in the central nervous system(CNS).The transmission of neural information has recently been recognized as a key regulator of central nervous system development, but the mechanisms of action of various genes are not fully understood. One of the obstacles to the study of psychiatric diseases is the difficulty of dynamically analyzing the state of the human brain.Because of the development of the embryo, the dynamic changes of the retina are considered to be close to the dynamic changes of the brain. It is considered to be an important reference site for the diagnosis and research of brain diseases.Among them, the cause of cognitive impairment may be caused by visual impairment, and the TRPM1 gene is associated with defects in visual light response. Moreover,a previous study suggest that TRPM1 was associated with schizophrenia, and it play a role in ion channels, melanin synthesis,as a series of GWAS illustrated opposite consequence. In this study,8 tagged SNPs of the TRPM1 gene were genotyped in 1248 schizophrenia,1056 cases of major depression disorder,1344 cases of bipolar disorder and 1248 healthy controls, and the susceptibility of these SNPs was analyzed.Association analysis showed that the polymorphism of TRPM1 gene was not associated with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder,or major depression. At the same time,we selected five previous reports to conduct a meta-analysis of rs10162727 and schizophrenia. The meta-analysis concluded that the TRPM1 gene was not significantly associated with schizophrenia.
