After Gengzi Incident, saving the dead has once again become a top priority. The trend of "improvement" thought that seeks progress comes into being at the historic moment.More and more people began to review the inherent culture and the current disadvantages,so the introduction and absorption of western learning has become a trend. The trend in the medical profession is reflected in the appearance of the newspaper type as a kind of academic expression form. The International Medical Journal is the product of this trend. The International Medical Journal is an official publication of the Chinese and Western Medical Research Association, with the aim of "studying traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, exchanging knowledge and revitalizing Medicine".From its inception in April 1910 to its suspension in June 1930,it published 10 volumes(12 issues of each volume)in total. It was a long-lasting medical journal in modern times. The columns of The International Medical Journal included theories, medical news, translated western works, special reports, collection of the members' contributions, biographies, forums, catalogue of membership and so on.Through the classification of the specific columns of The International Medical Journal,we can clearly understand the transformation of modern knowledge, the psychological changes of the vast number of practitioners and a series of efforts they have made to save the decadence of traditional Chinese medicine.Of course, the prevention and control of major diseases in newspapers and periodicals can also provide some reference for modern medicine. As far as the newspapers are concerned, the author finds that The International Medical Journal does not only exist as a journal, but also becomes a platform for Ding Fubao to introduce books and correspondence, thus becoming an important way to introduce the knowledge of western medicine, especially the booster of the changes on social health concept. Most of the articles in the later newspapers and periodicals are praising western medicine and criticizing the decline of Chinese medicine. It is not difficult to see that under the trend of knowledge transformation in modern times,Ding Fubao and others undoubtedly become the promoters of this trend, and The International Medical Journal has become the witness of this trend.
