Objective:The purpose of this study was to observe the clinical effect of Chaiyu Kangmin Decoction in the treatment of eosinophilic related chronic cough(cough variant asthma and eosinophilic bronchitis),and to explore its clinical significance,so as to provide scientific basis for the treatment of eosinophilic related chronic cough with traditional Chinese medicine. Methods:Sixty patients with eosinophil-related chronic cough, cough variant asthma(CVA)and eosinophilic bronchitis(EB)were selected from the outpatient department of respiratory medicine of the Affiliated Hospital of Southwest Medical University from September 2017 to September 2018.According to the principle of complete randomization, they were divided into observation group and control group,30 patients in each group. The control group was treated with inhaled budesonide aerosol,400 ug/time,2 times/day.Continuous use for 4 weeks. The observation group was treated with Chaiyu Kangmin Decoction for 4 weeks. The first two weeks, one dose a day,450-600 ml water decoction, three times before breakfast, lunch and dinner, the second two weeks, one dose every other day.The age,sex and course of disease were recorded, and the differences of eosinophil count(serum EOS),exhaled nitric oxide(FENO),clinical efficacy, cough symptom score, quality of life index, adverse reaction rate, complete compliance rate and recurrence rate in 3 months were compared between the two groups before treatment and 4 weeks after treatment.Statistical software SPSS 19.0 was used to analyze the data. Results:There was no significant difference between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).(1)After treatment, the value of exhaled nitric oxide decreased significantly in the two groups, but there was no significant difference in the level of exhaled nitric oxide between the observation group and the control group(19.93±13.16 vs 21.36±10.22 P=0.558).(2)After treatment, the level of eosinophil count(serum EOS)in peripheral blood of the two groups decreased significantly, but there was no significant difference between the observation group and the control group(0.18±0.08 vs 0.19±0.09 P=0.387).(3)After treatment, the total effective probability of the observation group was(90.00%)and that of the control group was(73.33%).The observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).(4)After treatment, the quality of life score of the observation group was(94.96±12.62)and that of the control group was(85.30±10.04).The observation group was significantly better than that of the control group(P<0.05).(5)After treatment, the cough score of the observation group was(0.86±0.81)and that of the control group was(1.46±0.73).The observation group was significantly better than that of the control group(P<0.05).(6)The incidence of adverse events in the observation group was only 6.67%,while that in the control group was 33.3%.The incidence of adverse events in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).(7)During the treatment period, the complete compliance rate of the observation group was 93.33%(28/30),and that of the control group was 73.33%(22/30),which was significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group(P<0.05).(8)The 3-month recurrence rate was 3.33%(1/30)in the observation group and 16.67%(5/30)in the control group. The recurrence rate in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The use of Chaiyu Kangmin Decoction for the treatment of eosinophilic chronic cough:(1).Control airway inflammation effectively;(2).Reduce the level of eosinophil count in peripheral blood;(3).Improve clinical efficacy;(4).Improve the patient's cough symptoms;(5).Improve the quality of life of patients;(6).Reduce adverse reactions and recurrence rate;(7).Patients have better compliance.
