Objective: To explore the relationship between eye habits and myopia in school-age children, and to develop good eye habits in school-age children,so as to prevent myopia. Methods:A total of 566 school-age children aged 7 to 12 years old who were admitted to our hospital's eye clinic and optometry center from December 2016 to December 2018 were selected. The subjects were divided into high myopia group, moderate myopia group and mild myopia group, and all children who met the requirements were recorded according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. The self-designed questionnaire for myopia susceptible population was used for questionnaire survey and examination.Collected data including: basic information: name, sex, date of birth, home address, contact information, name of parents or guardians, parents have myopia, reading distance, sleep time, physical examination time interval, eating habits, the average daily outdoor activity duration, average daily use eye time,TCM constitution type, etc.Eye examination includes naked eye vision, corrected vision, intraocular pressure, small pupil optometry, dilated pupil optometry, etc. The investigator is a technical team composed of ophthalmologists, optometrists and postgraduates working in our hospital to guide and supervise the research.Children are examined by professional optometrists, who are responsible for the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of the patients.A number of graduate students of this major were responsible for on-site maintenance, informed consent signature questionnaire survey and data collection and processing of children who visited the hospital. The data collected were first normalized and quantified, and the relationship between the diopter of the data and parents' myopia, reading distance, sleep time, physical examination interval, dietary habits, average daily outdoor activity time, and average daily eye time was statistically analyzed.SPSS 22.0 statistical software was used for data processing, and P<0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: there were significant differences in the number of myopic parents among the three groups(P < 0.05).There were significant differences in the distribution of outdoor activity time among the three groups(P < 0.05).There were significant differences in the distribution of each duration of close eye use among the three groups(P < 0.05).There were significant differences in the distribution of short-sighted children's habit of using eye distance at close range(P < 0.05).There were significant differences in the distribution of sleep time among the three groups(P < 0.05).There were significant differences in the distribution of each duration of close eye use among the three groups(P < 0.05).There was no significant difference in the distribution of dietary habits among the three groups(P > 0.05).There were significant differences in the number of people in the three groups(P < 0.05).There were significant differences in the number of people in the three groups(P < 0.05).There were significant differences in the number of people in the three groups(P < 0.05).Conclusion: myopia is closely related to genetic factors, eye duration, eye distance and sleep duration. In terms of the relationship between diet and myopia, our study showed that whether people prefer spicy food has no significant correlation with myopia, but myopia is closely related to the dietary habits of people who prefer sweet food, greasy food and fruits and vegetables.
