Objective: To identify the constitution of children with pneumonia and asthma who have been diagnosed as wind-heat or phlegm-heat syndrome in our hospital,to explore the constitution characteristics of children with pneumonia and asthma from the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine,to study the correlation between constitution and children's pneumonia and asthma, and to reflect the thinking mode of "suiting measures to people" in the treatment of diseases in traditional Chinese medicine,so as to help to give full play to the advantages of "treating disease without disease" in clinical practice. Methods: In this study,200 children with pneumonia and wheezing were collected by retrospective investigation method in a predetermined time.Through a questionnaire survey conducted by doctors to parents, the children were identified by TCM constitution. The statistical results of questionnaire and physique identification were studied and summarized to explore the correlation between children with pneumonia and asthma and their physique of traditional Chinese medicine. Results: A total of 200 cases were collected in this study.Pneumonia and cough were related to age and seasonal distribution, but not to the distribution of pathogens. The distribution of syndrome types of phlegm-heat closing lung is related to apoplexy-heat closing lung in pneumonia and asthma. The distribution of constitution in children was correlated with syndrome type, age group and allergic history, but not with sex, season of onset,PH and type of infection.According to the classification standard of Xu Rongqian's constitution,it was found that the most common types of children's pneumonia and wheezing cough were partial Yang heat and partial spleen deficiency, accounting for 31% and 25% of the total, respectively. In early childhood, most of them are partial spleen deficiency and peaceful quality, accounting for 30% and 25% of the total number of this age group, respectively. Most of the pre-school age groups were partial spleen deficiency and partial Yang heat, accounting for 33.33% and 30.77% of the age group respectively. Most of the school-age group had partial Yang heat, accounting for 54.29% of the total.Adolescence is mostly sensitive, accounting for 25.93% of the age group. Conclusion: Through this investigation,it is concluded that the proportion of children with pneumonia and asthma in early childhood and pre-school age is larger, the incidence of autumn and winter is more, and the proportion of wind-heat syndrome type is larger. In children with pneumonia and wheezing cough, the excessive quality of partial Yang and deficiency of spleen accounted for a larger proportion. In early childhood, most of them are partial spleen deficiency and peace, while in pre-school age, they are partial spleen deficiency and partial Yang heat, and in adolescence they are mostly sensitive.Discrimination of children's constitution is conducive to a comprehensive understanding of the nature of the disease and plays an important role in the "differentiation and treatment" of traditional Chinese medicine. It can predict the possibility of related diseases and adjust the constitution of children in time so as to achieve the goal of "pre-treatment before disease".
