Expression Of GLI3 Protein In Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer And Its Clinical Significance

Objective: To investigate the expression of GLI3(Glioma-associated Oncogene Homolog 3)protein in non-small cell lung cancer(non-small cell lung cancer,NSCLC)and its relationship with tumor development,invasion and metastasis of NSCLC.It provides an important reference for predicting the prognosis and survival of NSCLC patients.Methods:Paraffin specimens and clinical data of 82 cases of NSCLC were collected from January2013 to December 2013 in the Third Affiliated Teaching Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University(Affiliated Cancer Hospital).Immunohistochemical method was used to detect the expression of GLI3 protein in cancer tissues and paracancerous tissues,and the relationship between GLI3 and clinicopathological features and prognosis was analyzed.Results: GLI3 protein was widely expressed in 82 cases of NSCLC 59.8%(49/82),and the expression level in cancer tissues was higher than that in paracancerous tissues(positive rank: 42,negative rank: 25,Z =2.221,P=0.026).(2)The high expression of GLI3 was closely related to the tumor size and lymph node invasion of(pN),and the difference was statistically significant(P?0.05).(3)Univariate analysis suggested that aging,smoking history,lymph node metastasis,large tumor volume,late tumor stage,different pathological types and high expression of GLI3 in cancer tissues could be regarded as poor prognostic factors of NSCLC.(4)COX regression multivariate analysis showed that high expression of GLI3,lymph node invasion and tumor stage were independent predictors of prognosis in patients with NSCLC(P?0.05).(5)The high expression of GLI3 protein was closely related to the risk of bone metastasis in the progression of NSCLC(P?0.05).Conclusion:GLI3protein is widely and highly expressed in NSCLC,which is closely related to tumor development and lymph node invasion,and has a certain impact on bone metastasis in NSCLC patients,which is an adverse factor for prognosis and survival of NSCLC patients.
