Background and purpose To explore relationship between puberty timing advance and obesity and body fat content index, and provide the basis for the study of relevant mechanism of youth initiation. We trace examine the situation of puberty timing of primary and middle school students in Zhengzhou.Method The method of cross-sectional investigation was adopted in this study. The boys in grade three, grade four, grade seven, grade eight and grade nine and the girls in grade two, grade three, grade seven, grade eight and grade nine in three urban areas of Zhengzhou were selected.A baseline survey was conducted in October 2014,followed by a follow-up survey in October 2015 and October 2016 respectively.Physical examinations were conducted in all three surveys and PDS was used to evaluate the events related to youth initiation. The data set was established by Excel 2007,and the experimental data was analyzed by SPSS17.0 statistical software. The statistical description of the data was expressed by((?)±s).The mean comparison between the two groups was performed by t test.Pearson correlation was used for correlation analysis. The test level is ?=0.05.Results 1.puberty timing tracking The number of boys with a base age of 8 years in this three testicular development surveys(volume ? 4ml)was 9(7.7%),18(15.4%)and 71(60.7%)respectively.And the number of pubic hair development reaching stage II was 0(0),0(0)and 2(1.7%).The number of boys with a base age of 9 years in this three testicular development surveys(volume ? 4ml)was 22(13.1%),31(18.5%)and 125(74.4%)respectively.And the number of pubic hair development reaching stage II was 0(0)?8(4.8%)and 25(14.9%);The number of boys with a base age of 12 years in this three testicular development surveys(volume ? 4ml)was 89(88.1%),101(100%)and 101(100%)respectively.And the number of pubic hair development reaching stage II was 47(46.5%),97(96.1%)and 93(92.1%).The number of girls with a base age of 7 years in this three mammary development surveys was 30(20.3%)?44(29.7%)and 84(56.8%).And the number of menstrual onset was 0(0),2(1.4%)and 4(2.7%)respectively.The number of girls with a base age of 8 years in this three mammary development surveys was 80(55.2%)?89(61.4%)and 120(82.8%).And the number of menstrual onset was 1(0.7%)?2(1.4%)and 20(13.8%)respectively.The number of girls with a base age of 12 years in this three mammary development surveys was no more than 100(100%).And the number of menstrual onset was 70(70%)?92(92%)and 97(97%)respectively.2.Puberty timing distribution tracking The pre-emptive rate of boys puberty timing in the three surveys was 29.3%,31.3% and 33.9%.The pre-emptive rate of girls puberty timing in the three surveys was34.9%?34.6% and 30.0%.There was no significant difference in the prevalence of early detection between the male and female students in the three surveys(P>0.05).3.Analysis on the indexes of body fat content and physique in the puberty timing There was no significant difference in the detection rate of obesity between the early group and the normal group of the boys ‘puberty timing in this three surveys(P>0.05).There were no significant differences in the physique and body fat content between the puberty group and the normal group of the boys(P>0.05).In the three surveys, the pre-eclampsia group of girls was higher than the normal group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The physique and body fat content of the girls in the early stage of youth puberty were higher than those in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).4.Logistic regression analysis showed that abdominal skinfold thickness(OR=1.448,95%CI=1.212~1.774)in 2014 was a risk factor for early onset of puberty in girls.Scapular skinfold thickness(OR=1.573,95%CI=1.342~1.837)in 2015 was a risk factor for early onset of puberty in girls.Height(OR=1.535,95%CI=1.243~1.793),abdominal skin-fold thickness(OR=1.667,95%CI=1.486~1.938)in 2016 were risk factors for girls' early onset of youth. The differences among these results were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions 1.In the past three years, the percentage distribution of girls and boys puberty timing didn't change significantly. The boy show a certain pubety timing early before the age of 10;the girl show a certain puberty timing early before the age of 9.For most students, the puberty development of girls began at the age of 10,and the byos began at the age of 12.2.Obesity,body fat content may have no effect on the early puberty timing of boys;the early puberty timing of girls is closely related to obesity and body fat content.Incresed thickness of the abdominal or scapular folds may be the risk factor for early puberty timing of girl.
