Objective:To investigate the efficacy of intravoxel incoherent motion?IVIM?diffusion-weighted imaging?DWI?based on integrated specific slice dynamic Shim?ISHIM?sequence in the grading of astrocytes.Methods:The histological diagnosis of excised tumors from the 42 patients included in this study demonstrated that 28 patients had high-grade astrocytes?10 had WHO grade ?,18 had WHO grade ??,and 14 had low-grade astrocytes?1 had WHO grade ? and 13 had WHO grade ??.All patients underwent conventional MR imaging,ISHIM IVIM-DWI,and contrast-enhanced MR imaging.To measure parameters of tumor sites,the surrounding edema sites and the contralateral normal brain white matter sites,and statistical analysis.Results:?1?Tumor sites:we detected that D was significantly lower in high-grade than in low-grade astrocytes?0.2831±0.022 vs 0.302±0.016?×10 3 mm2/s,P<0.05.D*and f were higher for the high-grade compared with low-grade astrocytes,and all had statistical significance?1.017±0.073 vs 0.927±0.061?× 10-3mm2/s,P<0.05;?8.043±0.446?%vs?7.657±0.475?%,P<0.05;?2?The surrounding edema sites:D was lower in high-grade astrocytes than in low-grade astrocytes,and had statistical significance?0.286±0.011 vs 0.305±0.012?×10-3 mm2/s,P<0.05.There was no significant difference with D*and f?1.616±0.045 vs 1.602±0.038?×10-3 mm2/s,P>0.05,?3.457±0.305?%vs?3.575±0.226?%,P>0.05;?3?Contralateral normal brain white matter sites:There was no significant difference of D,D*and f in the high-grade and low-grade groups?0.378±0.040 vs 0.38310038?× 10-3 mm2/s,P>0.05;?0.633±0.020 vs 0.626±0.03?×10-3 mm2/s,P>0.05,?6.278±0.331?%vs?6.350±0.271?%,P>0.05.Conclusion:The D,D*and f values obtained by ISHIM IVIM-DWI are helpful to the judgment of tumor grade.It has great application value in the differential diagnosis of high-grade and low-grade astrocytes tumor.
