Background Obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome(OSAHS)is a high-grade chronic disease affecting multiple systems. In the community, the prevalence rate of middle-aged and elderly women can be as high as 11.1%.Studies have shown that there are gender differences in OSAHS in terms of clinical performance and risk factors. However, there are relatively few studies on the risk factors for OSAHS among women at home and abroad. The research results are not uniform due to ethnic differences and small sample sizes. The prevalence of OSAHS among snorers is significantly higher than in general population, but the risk factors of OSAHS among snorers are not very clear. Therefore,it is of great significance to explore the risk factors of snoring women suffering from OSAHS.Objective To explore the risk factors of obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome(OSAHS)in snoring women. Methods This was a cross-sectional study.Convenient sampling were taken to collect 223 adult snoring women who would have a check of monitoring of sleep respiration in Peking Union Medical College Hospital from January 2017 to February 2018,which were divided into two groups,113 cases of non-OSAHS group and 110 cases of OSAHS group. The univariate analysis was performed on 18 risk factors between the two groups.Statistically significant risk factors were used for binary logistic regression analysis. Results After the analysis of 18 risk factors between the non-OSAHS group and the OSAHS group, there was a statistically significant difference among 11 items(P<0.05),which were snoring duration, snoring degree, age, menstrual status,BMI,neck circumference, waist circumference, hip circumference, waist hip ratio,MMP classification and neck length. The neck length was negatively correlated with AHI and the severity of OSAHS(P<0.05).The remaining 10 risk factors were positively correlated with AHI and the severity of OSAHS(P<0.05).According to the ROC curve coordinates, the thresholds of 10 risk factors except menstruation were determined. The thresholds of snoring duration, snoring degree, age,BMI,neck circumference, waist circumference, hip circumference, waist hip ratio,MMP classification and neck length were 10,2.5(Severe Snoring),52.5,24.6 kg/m2,34.5cm,93.1cm,97.3cm,0.895,2.5(ie,MMP grade ?)and 9.5cm.According to the segmentation value, the above variables were converted into binary variables. And the distribution of 11 risk factor indicators were statistically different between the non-OSAHS and OSAHS groups(P<0.05).Binary logistic regression analysis was performed on the binary data of 11 risk factors, and the duration of snoring, degree of snoring, age,BMI,and MMP grade were entered into the equation, and duration of snoring beyond 10 years, severe snoring, the age?52.5 years,BMI>24.6 kg/m2 and MMP grade III or IV are the five possible main risk factors for female snorers with OSAHS.Conclusion The 11 possible risk factors and 5 possible major risk factors for OSAHS in snoring women were clarified, which could provide evidence for the prevention, controlling, early diagnosis and early treatment for snoring women with OSAHS.
