Objective:Doctors in the Ming and Qing Dynasties recognized the physiology and pathology of the liver and the treatment of liver diseases.It was a new peak of the Ming and Qing Dynasties and the previous period.However,the understanding of the physiology and pathology of the liver and the treatment of hepatic diseases in the Ming and Qing physicians has rarely been studied and discussed by modern scholars.Therefore,this study retrieved general literature of the Ming and Qing Dynasties,and collated and researched it.It summarized the understanding of the physiology and pathology of the liver in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.It thoroughly explored and explored the methods of treating the liver in the Ming and Qing Dynasties,aiming at modern doctors.Treatment of liver disease provides new ideas,which are of little benefit to the clinic.Methods:According to the relevant records of the Song,Yuan,Ming and Qing Medical Record,the books of the Ming and Qing Dynasties were entered into the excel file one by one;the electronic books of the Chinese Medical Code and the libraries of the Henan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine were collected in accordance with the excel file.(1368-1911)The physician's work screens relevant documents according to the inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria of the literature and forms the final data source.The method of "combination of manual retrieval and electronic computer retrieval" and "combination of methods of collation,analysis,and induction" are used to collect and collate the Ming and Qing dynasties.The relevant documents of the period,formed a corresponding list of physicians frequency,in-depth discussion of the eligible objects in the frequency table,a general overview of the physical and pathological aspects of the liver in the Ming and Qing physicians,summary and excavation of the treatment of liver diseases.Results:1 The doctor's understanding of the physical and pathological conditions of the liver during the Ming and Qing Dynasties was mainly manifested in the "Yin Yang of the Liver Body," "Hepatory Blood," "Living of the Liver," and "The Liver is a Thief."" "The woman takes the liver as a congenital" and "the liver is the officer of the general" and other highly summarized views.These viewpoints cover the understanding of the physiological functions of the liver in the Ming and Qing physicians,the relationship between the liver and other four organs,and the special significance of the liver for women's physiological and pathological conditions.2 The treatment of liver diseases by doctors in the Ming and Qing Dynasties can be summed up as 12 Dafas,namely the Shugan method,the Rougan method,the slowing liver method,the diarrhea liver method,the suppression of the liver method,the Xifeng method,the Bugan method,the Pinggan method,Search liver method,liver convergence method,liver method,liver disease and spleen method.Conclusion:This study was conducted through the research and analysis of the understanding of the liver physiology and pathology of the Ming and Qing physicians and the treatment of liver diseases.(1)The physicians' understanding of liver physiology and pathology in the Ming and Qing Dynasties was more in-depth and comprehensive than that before Ming and Qing Dynasties.It not only enriched the connotation of the"classic" viewpoints of the previous period,but also put forward many new ideas.For example,the concept of "the catharsis of the liver and the promotion of the spleen and stomach" promotes the meaning of "living the cat" and "the woman uses the liver as the congenital" to emphasize the special significance of the liver to women's physiology and pathology;"Source" highly summarizes the physiological and pathological relations between liver and kidney.(2)There are twelve major methods for treating liver diseases in the Ming and Qing dynasties,which can provide new ideas for the treatment of liver diseases by modern physicians.The theoretical understanding of liver physiology and pathology and the use of clinical treatment methods for liver disease in the Ming and Qing physicians provide a theoretical basis for modern physicians to treat liver diseases,and has important theoretical value and clinical treatment guidance significance.
