Clinical Observation Of Jiawei Chaihu Shugan Powder Combined With Carbamazepine In The Treatment Of Epilepsy Of Wind-phlegm Obliteration Type

Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy and safety of Jiawei Chaihu Shugan Powder combined with carbamazepine in the treatment of epilepsy of wind-phlegm obliteration type.Method: 80 patients with complex partial seizures of temporal lobe epilepsy of wind-phlegm obliteration type who admitted to the inpatient and outpatient departments of encephalopathy of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from December 2016 to November 2018 and met the inclusion criteria were collected.According to the random number method,they were divided into treatment group(39 cases)and control group(41 cases).The control group was given carbamazepine 0.1g/time,three times a day;the treatment group was given Jia Wei Chaihu Shugan Powder on the basis of the control group,1 dose a day,each time 200 ml respectively before breakfast and dinner.Both groups were treated for 2 months.The frequency of epileptic seizures,duration of seizures,severity of seizures,life quality score,EEG score,TCM syndrome score,safety indicators(blood routine,liver and kidney function,electrolyte,urine routine,fecal routine and electrocardiogram)and adverse reactions were recorded before and after treatment,and the data were analyzed to evaluate comprehensively the clinical efficacy and safety of Jia Wei Chaihu Shugan powder combined with carbamazepine.Result:(1)Comparison of the frequency of seizures: between the two groups: before treatment,P>0.05;after treatment,P<0.05.Within the groups: both groups before and after treatment,P<0.01.The frequency of seizures in the treatment group and the control group was significantly less than that before treatment,and the treatment group was better than that of the control group.(2)Comparison of duration of seizures: between the two groups,before treatment,P>0.05;after treatment,P<0.01.Within the groups: both groups before and after treatment,P<0.01.The two treatment methods are both effective,and the treatment group is significantly better than that of the control group.(3)Comparison of seizure severity score: between the two groups: before treatment,P>0.05,after treatment,P<0.01.Within the groups: both groups before and after treatment,P<0.01.After treatment,the severity scores of the two groups decreased compared with those before treatment,and the scores of the treatment group were significantly better than those of the control group.(4)Comparison of the life quality score: between the two groups: before treatment,P>0.05;after treatment,P<0.01.Within the groups: both groups before and after treatment,P<0.01.Both treatment methods can improve the life quality of patients,and the curative effect of the treatment group is significantly better than that of the control group.(5)Comparisons of EEG Scores: between the two groups,before treatment,P>0.05;after treatment,P>0.05.Within the groups,treatment group: before and after treatment,P<0.01;control group: before and after treatment,P<0.05.Both treatment methods can improve EEG scores,and the curative effect are equal.(6)Comparison of TCM Syndrome Scores: between the two groups,before treatment,P>0.05;after treatment,P<0.05.Within the groups: both groups before and after treatment,P<0.01.TCM syndromes in both the treatment group and the control group improved,and the curative effect of the treatment group is better than that of the control group.(7)Analysis and comparison of drug safety and adverse reactions: the adverse reactions in the treatment group compared with the control group,P>0.05.Blood routine,liver and kidney function,electrolyte,urine routine,stool routine and electrocardiogram were not abnormal before and after treatment.Conclusion: Jiawei Chaihu Shugan Powder combined with carbamazepine in the treatment of epilepsy of wind-phlegm obliteration type can reduce the frequency of epileptic seizures,shorten the duration,alleviate the severity of epilepsy seizures,improve the abnormal situation of electroencephalogram,reduce the scores of TCM syndromes,and improve the life quality of patients,proving that it has good clinical efficacy and is worth promoting.
