Objective:To explore the effects of different exposure concentrations in drinking water-type arsenic exposure areas on children's intelligence, growth and motor function, and provide basic data for children's health protection. Methods:In June 2018,an epidemiological survey was conducted on an arsenic drinking water poisoning area in Xinjiang, which was grouped according to water arsenic concentration,ie high arsenic exposure group(>50ug/L),low arsenic exposure group(10ug/L?50ug/L)and the control group(<10ug/L)stratified group extraction of 359 children. The children's IQ was measured using the China United Raven Test Rural Edition(CRT-C2),and the Bruininks-Oseretsky test(2nd edition)was used to analyze and evaluate children's motor function. The physical development Z-score method was used to evaluate the developmental development of children's morphological indicators(height, weight, waist circumference).Urine arsenic was measured by hydride atomic fluorescence spectrophotometry. Results:IQ analysis of children's IQ(F=12.4,p<0.05),the IQ of children with high arsenic exposure and low arsenic exposure was lower than that of the control group(q=4.65,q=3.47,p<0.05),The mental retardation rates of children with high arsenic exposure, low arsenic exposure and control groups were 10.8%,11.7%and5%,respectively.There were no significant differences in height, weight, and waist circumferencedevelopmentbetweenthegroups(?~2=0.39,?~2=1.51,?~2=2.25,p>0.05).Multiple linear regression analysis suggests that age and water type can affect children's intelligence level. The variance analysis of children's exercise ability was statistically significant(F=18.99,p<0.05).Different arsenic exposure levels were used to analyze children's exercise ability according to gender. The difference was statistically significant(boy:F=13.41,p<0.05,girl:F=12.37,p<0.05),except for the age group of11?15 years old,the children's exercise ability gradually decreased with t he increase of water arsenic concentration in all age groups, including hand control ability(MC)and body balance ability(BC).The difference between speed and agility(SA)was statistically significant(MC:H=18.83,BC:H=13.9,SA:H=35.52,p<0.05).The distribution of children's motor ability grades was statistically significant(?~2=30.28,p(27)0.05),and the children's exercise ability was 27.5%in the high arsenic group,18.3%in the low arsenic group, and 6.7%in the control group.Multiple linear regression analysis of drinking water type(?=0.014,p<0.05)and father's occupation(?=0.011,p<0.05)were the main influencing factors of children's exercise capacity. The correlation analysis between urinary arsenic and children's exercise ability shows that the low arsenic group and the control group are negatively correlated with children's exercise capacity. With the increase of urinary arsenic level, the hand control ability of children gradually decreases.Child intelligence was positively correlated with motor function(r=0.169,p<0.001).Conclusion:Exposure to water and arsenic may affect children's mental development and cause different degrees of damage to children's exercise capacity.Effective measures should be taken against water sources to promote children's healthy development.
