Objective: To explore and analyze the related factors affecting the recurrence of early squamous cell carcinoma of tongue(ESCCT),find out the high-risk population, and give the best treatment for different individuals,in order to further improve the survival rate of ESCCT patients and reduce the recurrence rate. Methods: The clinical data of 92 patients with early tongue cancer treated in the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University from October 2007 to October 2017 were collected and analyzed retrospectively.SPSS 17.0 software was used for statistical analysis. The factors such as sex, age, growth pattern, clinical stage, pathological grading, treatment and recurrence were analyzed by card method.Cox regression model was used to analyze the prognostic factors, and Kaplan-Meier method was used to analyze the single factor affecting the recurrence-free survival(RFS)of tongue cancer.Result: Of 92 patients with early tongue cancer,27 had recurrence, and the recurrence rate was 85.2%(23/27)within 2 years.Univariate analysis showed that pathological grade, surgical method,post-operative radiotherapy and growth pattern were the factors influencing the recurrence of early tongue cancer(all P < 0.05).Multivariate analysis showed that pathological grade, growth pattern and post-operative radiotherapy were independent factors influencing the recurrence of early tongue cancer.Analysis of prognostic factors using Cox regression model, using Kaplan-Meier method of tongue cancer recurrence free survival(RFS)of single factor analysis. Conclusion: The recurrence time of patients with stage pT1-2tongue cancer after treatment is mostly within 2 years, which requires close follow-up.Moderate to low differentiated squamous cell carcinoma and invasive growth are the high risk factors for recurrence after operation.Extended resection of tongue cancer plus ipsilateral neck lymph node dissection in I-III region and combined with postoperative radiotherapy are the protective factors for reducing recurrence of tongue cancer.
