Objective: To observe and analyze the significance of SedS in classification and localization diagnosis of LSS.Methods: A total of 58 LSS patients were included in this study with an average age of 66.22 years, who were treated in our hospital from January2016 to December 2017.A total of 133 stenotic segments(61 central,34 lateral and 38mixed)of these patients were analyzed.According to the presence of positive SedS,58 patients were divided into two groups: SedS+ group(n = 46);SedS-group(n = 12).Age,sex ratio,Oswestry dysfunction index(ODI),Visual analogue score,(VAS),Body mass index(BMI),duration of low back pain, duration of leg pain, operative rates were compared between the two groups. The positivity of SedS in the three stenosis types was compared. The distribution of SedS in the segments that cause symptoms was observed;Analyze the intra-rater and inter-rater reliability of SedS.Results: Compared to the SedSgroup, the SedS+ group had longer courses of low back and leg pain, while lower operative rate and VAS were observed in the SedS-group.The SedS positive rate in the central and mixed spinal stenosis segments were significantly higher than those in the lateral type, and the symptom-related segments shows significant higher positive rate.At the same time,SedS has good intra-rater and inter-rater reliability. Conclusion: The patients with severe symptoms and long course of LSS have higher positive rate of SedS.SedS is a simple, cheap and reliable reference index for LSS imaging classification and localization of symptom-related segments.
