| OBJECTIVE:It remains controversial about the clinical outcomes of bone filling mesh containers and percutaneous kyphoplasty in pain relief, kyphotic angle, restoring the vertebral height and cement leakage. To compare the clinical outcomes of BFMCs and PKP for osteoporotic vertebral compressive fracture in pain relief, kyphotic angle, restoring the vertebral height and cement leakage.METHODS:A total of 90 patients which with OVCF Collecting of Binzhou Medical University Hospital from September 2014 to December 2015 were equivalently randomized into two groups, followed by treated with BFMCs or PKP,respectively. The two groups were followed by the corresponding surgery.Intraoperative data collection included age, sex, preoperative and postoperative VAS,preoperative and postoperative Cobb angle, responsibility of vertebral anterior and central high recovery and the cement leakage of postoperative. The measurement data is expressed in x±s and the count data is expressed as a percentage.SPSS 19.0 statistical software was used for statistical analysis,.Comparison of mean differences between groups and groups using t test, correction of χ2 test and single factor analysis of variance.P<0.05 for the difference was significant.During more than 3-month follow-up,the pain relief, kyphotic angle, the vertebral height and cement leakage in the two groups were observed to assess the therapeutic effect.RESULTS:There were no significant differences in age and sex between the two groups(P>0.05).All patients in this study were followed up,follow-up rate of 100%.BFMCs group 45 patients were followed up for more than 3 months,an average of 3.1 months;percutaneous kyphoplasty group 45 patients were followed up for more than 3 months,an average of 3.3 months.VAS,cobb angle, vertebral height before and after surgery were significantly different(p<0.05),In the cobb angle, vertebral height recovery, cement leakage number of the two groups were significantly different(p<0.05).Pain in all patients was relieved at 24 hours after operation. There was no significant difference in pain relief between two groups(P>0.05).PKP was significantly effective to restore the vertebral body height(P<0.05).While BMCFs significantly reduced the leakage rate of bone cement(P<0.05).CONCLUSION:During the follow-up period, the clinical symptoms of the two patients after surgery improved significantly, cobb angle, vertebral height were 24 hours after surgery was not significantly lost. The use of bone filling mesh and balloon kyphoplasty in the treatment of osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures is safe and effective surgical approach. These results suggest that BFMCs and PKP each has its advantages in the treatment of osteoporotic vertebral compressive fracture, but both exert analgesic effect. |
