Objective:Fluorescent Oxidation Products?FlOPs?are a new class of oxidative stress indicators with good stability,high sensitivity and simple test methods.Previous studies in the United States showed that higher FlOPs were risk factors for coronary heart disease,but in the Chinese population,no studies have revealed the relationship between FlOPs and coronary heart disease,especially cerebral ischemic stroke.This study was designed to investigate whether there is a correlation between plasma FlOPs in Chinese population and coronary heart disease and cerebral ischemic stroke.This study can provide a theoretical basis for effective assessment of the risk of coronary heart disease and cerebral ischemic stroke and subsequent scientific research.Methods:The subjects of this study were from a top three hospital in Qiqihar City,Heilongjiang Province.This study used a design method of case-match matching for age and gender distribution.The study included a coronary heart disease group?n=68?,an cerebral ischemic stroke group?n=61?,and a control group?n=138?.According to the relevant guidelines and diagnostic criteria,patients with coronary heart disease and cerebral ischemic stroke were diagnosed by clinical symptoms and related auxiliary examinations.FlOPs were measured by an ultra-micro fluorescence microplate reader at three excitation/emission wavelengths?360/420 nm,designated FlOP360;320/420 nm,designated FlOP320 and 400/475 nm,designated FlOP400?.The basic information?age,gender,etc.?of the study population was obtained by questionnaire survey.Univariate and multivariate logistic regression tests were used to obtain the odds ratio?OR?and the 95% confidence interval?CI?of FlOPs and coronary heart disease and cerebral ischemic stroke.The effects of FLOP320,FLOP360,and FLOP400 on the risk of coronary heart disease and cerebral ischemic stroke were compared using Area under the ROC curve?AUROC?.Results:1.Compared with the control group,there was no significant difference in the mean and sex ratio between the subjects in the coronary heart disease group and the cerebral ischemic stroke group.The proportion of hypertension in the coronary heart disease group was higher than that in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant?P<0.001?.The proportion of diabetes in the coronary heart disease group was higher than that in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant?P=0.009?.The level of total cholesterol in the cerebral ischemic stroke group was higher than that in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant?P=0.011?.The mean value of c-reactive protein in the ischemic stroke group was higher than that in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant?P=0.032?.the prevalence of hypertension in the cerebral ischemic stroke group was higher than that in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant?P<0.001?.2.In single factor logistic regression analysis,FlOP320,history of hypertension,and history of diabetes were risk factors for coronary heart disease,the OR values are respectively1.692?95%CI:1.243,2.323,P=0.001?,3.201?95%CI: 1.713,5.984,P<0.001?and 2.731?95%CI:1.274,5.892,P=0.010?;FlOP320,total cholesterol,and history of hypertension were risk factors for cerebral ischemic stroke,the OR values are respectively 1.514?95%CI:1.106,2.077,P=0.010?,1.514?95%CI:1.106,2.077,P=0.010?and 5.553(95%CI:2.893,10.672,P<0.001.Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that FlOP320 was a risk factor for coronary heart disease,the OR value is?95%CI:1.133,2.146,P=0.006?;there was no statistically significant association between FlOP360 and FlOP400 and coronary heart disease.There was no statistically significant association between FlOP320,FlOP360,and FlOP400 and cerebral ischemic stroke.3.The AUROC of FlOP320 for coronary heart disease and cerebral ischemic stroke was greater than the AUROC corresponding to FlOP360 and FlOP400.Conclusion:1.The subject's FlOP320 may be a risk factor for coronary heart disease;no statistical association between FlOP360 and FlOP400 and coronary heart disease was found.2.No statistical association between FlOP320,FlOP360 and FlOP400 and cerebral ischemic stroke was found.3.FlOP320 may help to better predict the risk of coronary heart disease.
