Preliminary Analysis Of Quality Of Life After Repair The Tongue Root Defect Of Patients With Two Free Flaps

Objective1 To estimate the 1 year quality of life of those patients with the tongue root defect.2 To Analyze the voiced function and of swallowing function after received tongue root resection accompanied with forearm flap(FF)and anterolateral thigh flap(ALTF)reconstruction 1 year postoperatively,which provide reference for soft tissue to restore the defection of tongue root.Materials and Methods1 30 patients identified as tongue root defects who met the inclusion criteria oral and maxillofacial surgery were enrolled at the First Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University from March 2015 to March 2017,and the survey was referred to the Washington College Student Questionnaire Quality Questionnaire(Fourth Edition).2 Due to the diacritical repair methods,the patients were divided into two groups:the forearm flap group and the anterolateral thigh flap group.The data was collected and the swallowing function was adopted.3 Teng Rong's-swallowing function classification and the speech function was assessed with Chinese speech intelligibility test table.4 The statistical analysis was performed with the IBM SPSS(Version 22.0).The measurement data on the premise of satisfying the normality was expressed in the model of mean±standard deviation(x±s).T test or analysis of variance was used for the comparison of the mean between two groups.The comparison of the count data rates was proceeded with?~2 test.P<0.05 was recognized statistically significant.Results1 All the questionnaire was completed and typed,including the assessment of swallowing and speech function.2 Both the forearm flap group and the anterolateral thigh flap group argued swallowing,speech,and chewing had some important effects on their function.There was no statistic significance between ALTF and RFFF group,even though score of ALTF group was higher than RFFF group(P>0.05).3 ALTF group was superior to RFFF group in swallowing function which remained statistically significant(P<0.05).4 There was no statistic significance between ALTF and RFFF group in voiced function(P>0.05).Conclusion1 The quality of patients'wellness is disorganized by the defection of tongue root,mainly causing the obstacles of voiced function,swallowing function and masticatory function.2 When conducting the design of defect reconstruct,not only cover the wound,but the tissue in the defect area and provided by the flap should be totally considered for talking with bulk so that the patient's swallowing and speech function were restored at the greatest extent,to raise the patients'quality of life.3 More attention of ALT should be paid when reconstructing the defection of tongue root for free skin flap,especially for the patients who want to have a high quality of life.
