Case Reports Of Tooth Defect And Reshaping

Objective: This paper aims to study different restoration method of tooth defect and reshaping.Methods: From September 2016 to March 2018,four patients from the Department of Prosthodontics at the Affiliated Stomatological Hospital of Fujian Medical University were selected as the study subjects.According to the specific tooth defect,we chose different restorations,such as inlay,post-and-core crown and veneer.We should take both aesthetic and functional factors into consideration when restoring anterior teeth.Aesthetic approaches include digital smile design,wax-up and mock-up.The recovery of occlusal function involves the recording of inclination of incisal path and condylar path.When repairing tooth defect in posterior,we should focus on the recovery of occlusal function.We can use traditional impression method and the intraoral digital scanning technique when taking oral impression.Results: After the restoration was worn,every patient was satisfied with the restoration.The long-term effect still needs to be assessed.Conclusion: Digital smile design,wax-up and mock-up can be used in the design of anterior teeth.Face bow,incisal guidance table and virtual articulator can be used to copy the inclination of incisal path and condylar path.The application of post-and-core crown depends on residual dental tissue.Intraoral digital scanning technique can be used in impression taking of single ceramic crown.Inlay can be used to repair short molar.Veneer can be used to reshape lateral incisors.Proper restoration should be chosen after the communication between dentist and patient.
