Abstract/Summary:
Objective:To investigate the expression and clinical significance of Galectin-9 and αvβ3 in colorectal cancer, and to analyze the correlation between them. Methods:Through the inclusion and exclusion,68 cases were collected from June 2015 to December 2016 in the Department of general surgery of the first hospital of Shanxi Medical University after surgical resection and postoperative pathology of colorectal cancer patients with cancer tissues and corresponding normal epithelium(adjacent >5cm).Immunohistochemical method was used to detect the expression of Galectin-9 andαvβ3 protein.Statistical analysis was used to analyze the relationship between the expression of the two and the clinicopathological features of the patients with colorectal cancer and its correlation. Results:The positive rate of Galectin-9 protein expression in colorectal cancer tissues was63.2%,and the positive rate in normal colorectal epithelial tissues was 82.4%,the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).The positive rate of alpha v beta 3protein in colorectal cancer tissues was 52.9%,and the positive rate in normal colorectal epithelial tissues was 35.3%,the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).The expression of Galectin-9 and αvβ3 was correlated with clinical stage, distant metastasis, lymph node metastasis and vascular invasion. There was no significant correlation withage, sex, tumor differentiation, tumor invasion and tumor location. The expression of Galectin-9 and αvβ3 in colorectal cancer was negatively correlated..Conclusion:Low expression of Galectin-9 in colorectal cancer with clinical stage, distant metastasis, lymph node metastasis, vascular invasion,αvβ3 expression in colorectal cancer, with clinical stage, distant metastasis, lymph node metastasis, vascular invasion,Galectin-9 and αvβ3 may become a new molecular markers of colorectal cancer.
