Objective: To compare the efficacy and safety of FOLFIRI with that of SOX in the neoadjuvant chemotherapy for locally advanced gastric cancer in order to explore the optimal regimen. To provide theoretical and clinical basis for the comprehensive treatment of advanced gastric cancer.Method: Eighty patients with locally advanced gastric cancer admitted to Department of Oncology in our hospital during September 2015-2017 were selected and randomly divided into FOLFIRI group(2-week regimen)and SOX group(3-week regimen)with equal number.FOLFIRI group underwent 4 treatment cycles, then accept the surgical treatment, and SOX group 3 treatment cycles. The efficacy and safety of two neoadjuvant chemotherapy regimens were evaluated by comparing the two regimens in response rate(RR),disease control rate(DCR),R0 resection rate and chemotherapy toxicity.Result:1.RR in FOLFIRI group were slightly lower than that in SOX group, the difference was not statistically significant(62.8.0% vs 67.6%,P>0.05).2.DCR in FOLFIRI group were slightly lower than that in SOX group, the difference was not statistically significant(82.6%vs85.2%,P>0.05).3.The R0 resection rate in FOLFIRI group was slightly higher than that in SOX group(77.1% vs 73.5%,P>0.05).4.All patients' symptoms were improved or disappeared after symptomatic treatment, and there was no chemotherapy related death case in the whole group. There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions of chemotherapy between two groups, including hematological toxicity, nausea and vomiting, liver function damage and so on(P > 0.05).Conclusion: 1.Locally advanced gastric cancer patients treated with FOLFIRI regimen were not inferior to SOX regimen in neoadjuvant chemotherapy.2.Locally advanced gastric cancer can be tolerated by FOLFIRI chemotherapy.3.FOLFIRI regimen can be used as a alternative chemotherapy regimen for neoadjuvant chemotherapy in locally advanced gastric cancer.
