Research Progress Of Induction Chemotherapy For Locally Advanced Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

The main treatment method for nasopharyngeal carcinoma is radiotherapy.With the development of intensity modulated radiation therapy and the extensive application of comprehensive treatment with radiotherapy and chemotherapy,a number of clinical studies support concurrent chemoradiotherapy as the standard treatment for locally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma,significantly improving the effect of treatment.Distant metastasis and local recurrence have become the two main reasons for the failure of the treatment for nasopharyngeal carcinoma.Induction chemotherapy has become a hot topic in the recent comprehensive treatment of nasopharyngeal carcinoma.It has been controversial about the effect of induction chemotherapy combined with concurrent chemoradiotherapy and the choice of induction chemotherapy regimen.With the deepening of research on molecular targeted drugs,some drugs have been used in the treatment of nasopharyngeal cancer,so the curative effect of induction chemotherapy combined with molecular targeted drugs combined with radiotherapy is also further explored.Therefore,this article reviews the efficacy of currently available medical evidence in the induction chemotherapy in the treatment of locally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma.Therefore,this article reviewed the efficacy and optimal regimen of induction chemotherapy in the treatment of locally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
