Objective:1.To investigate the prevalence of myopia among adolescents and people of all age groups in Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture;2.To investigate the status quo of myopia prevention and treatment among young people of all nationalities and age groups and related factors in the development of myopia;3.To provide evidence for prevention and control of myopia in young people and assists Linxia Prefecture to improve the level of eye care for adolescents.Methods:1.Using the stratified random cluster sampling method to collect 6 schools in Linxia City,Dongxiang Autonomous County and Baoan Autonomous County,including 2 primary schools,2 junior high schools,and 2 high schools.All of the Students in these school were the subjects of this study.The investigation included eye examination and questionnaire.2.All data were entered into Excel software,using SPSS20.0 statistical software to analyze myopia prevalence and related factors.Results:1.The effective sample size was 8,683,including 4,712 boys and 3,971 girls.The sample age ranged from 6 to 18,with an average age of 12.56±3.1 years,Including 7 ethnic groups: 714 Dongxiang people,874 Salars,1,520 Hui people,1,167 Tu people,2,903 Han people,1,273 Baoan people,and 232 Tibetans;2.The prevalence of myopia in adolescents in Linxia were 42.8%,the prevalence of myopia in boys were 40.5%,in girls were 45.6%.There was no statistically significant difference in the prevalence of gender(?2=6.96,P=0.138);The prevalence rates of myopia were: 17.38%,36.54%,46.57%,67.46%,and the difference was statistically significant(?2=396.70,P<0.001).The myopia rate increased significantly with age;the prevalence of myopia in different ethnic groups were: Tibetan: 59.1%,Han: 46.7%,Dongxiang: 46.4%,Tu:45.2%,Salars: 41.3%,Baoan: 40.6%,Hui: 32.0%.Myopia in different ethnic groups is Significant different(?2=44.08,P=0.007)3.The nearsighted population was mildly near-maintenance,and the prevalence rates ofmild myopia,moderate myopia,and high myopia were 76.3%,19.9%,and 3.8%,respectively.4.Myopia-related factors found that there was a negative correlation between outdoor activities and myopia(OR=0.551,P=0.017),however age(OR=1.183,P<0.001),and ceiling lights at home(OR=1.570,P=0.004),the axial length(OR=1.728,P<0.001),the use of electronic products on weekends and holidays(OR=1.756,P=0.002)were positively correlated with myopia.Conclusions:1.The prevalence of myopia increases with age,and the prevalence of myopia varies among ethnic groups.The prevalence of myopia in Tibetans and Hans is higher and the Hui population is lower.2.Outdoor activities during breaks are protective factors for myopia.Age,weekends and holidays using electronic products,learning to use the same lighting at home are risk factors for myopia.3.Linxia myopia students have problems with low myopia correction rate and bad habits of wearing glasses.The improvement of adolescents' eye health conditions should be made by the family and the community to increase the time for youth activities,reduce the use of electronic products,and increase the brightness of learning lighting.Adolescent eye health education and other aspects to start,do their utmost to prevent further progress in young people with poor eyesight.
