Objection:To study the differences of surgical risks between inflammatory mass and malignant tumor in head of pancreas.Methods:This retrospective study included patients who underwent pancreaticoduodenectomy in our hospital between January 2012 and December 2017.All patients were divided into two group.Group A(25 cases)contained inflammatory mass in head of pancreas.Group B(157 cases)contained malignant tumor in head of pancreas.To record the clinical data of two groups for statistical analysis.Results:The differences of the length of hospital stay,surgical time,blood loss,the length of hospital stay after operation,albumin,WBC,the time of eating,the time of abdominal drainage tube stay,blood transfusion,pancreatic fistula,postoperative bleeding,postoperative infection and delayed gastric emptying have no statistical significance.Conclusion:The surgical risks of inflammatory mass in head of pancreas have no difference with malignant tumor in head of pancreas.The surgical risks of inflammatory mass in head of pancreas is also high.It have to be very cautious to determine whether do the pancreaticoduodenectomy for the mass in head of pancreas which is not easy to distinguish.
