Objective:To investigate dietary glycemic load(GL)in acne vulgaris and the correlation between the serum IGF-1,IGFBP-3,DHT,AD,DHEAS levels and GL,the correlation between GL and lesion severity, the correlation between the serum IGF-1,IGFBP-3,DHT,AD,DHEAS levels and lesion severity in acne vulgaris.Methods:104 patients were recruited in experimental group, including 59 female and 45 male acne vulgaris patients. The normal control group consisted of 80 healthy people including40 males and 40 females(all the persons aged between 14 to 25-year old). The Global Acne Grading System(GAGS)rating scale was used to evaluate the lesion severity in all acne vulgaris, meanwhile,Food frequency questionnaire(FFQ)and 24-hour dietary recall(24-HDR)were used to assess GL in all subjects. The serum levels of IGF-1,IGFBP-3,AD,DHT,DHEAS in patients with acne vulgaris and the control were detected by chemiluminescent immunoassay and radioimmunoassay separately.Statistical analyses were conducted using the SPSS 22.0.Mann-Whitney U test was used to compare GL and the serum levels of IGF-1,IGFBP-3,AD,DHT,DHEAS in participants with acne vulgaris and the control,P value <0.05 is considered statistically significant.Meanwhile, the correlation between the serum IGF-1,IGFBP-3,DHT,AD,DHEAS levels and GL,the correlation between GL and lesion severity, the correlation between the serum IGF-1,IGFBP-3,DHT,AD,DHEAS levels and lesion severity in acne vulgaris were analyzed by Spearman Rank Correlation.Results:1.The body mass index and disease duration weren't significantly correlated with GL in acne vulgaris(P>0.05).2.The case group had a higher glycemic load than the control, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).3.Participants with acne vulgaris had significantly higher level of IGF-1,AD,DHT DHEAS concentrations and lower IGFBP-3 concentrations comparing to participants without acne vulgaris(P<0.05).4.The serum levels of IGF-1,DHEAS,DHT,AD were positively and IGFBP-3 was negatively correlated with GL in acne vulgaris(P<0.05).5.The GAGS score was positively correlated with GL in vulgaris(P<0.05).6.The GAGS score was positively correlated with the serum levels of IGF-1,DHEAS,DHT AD and IGFBP-3(P<0.05).Conclusios:1.The glycemic load were positively related with the serum levels of IGF-1,AD,DHT DHEAS and negative related with IGFBP-3 level in patients with acne vulgaris, which means while the glycemic load increased, the level of serum IGF-1,AD,DHT and DHEAS increased, and serum IGFBP-3 level decreased.2.The GL was positively related with GAGS scores in adolescent acne vulgaris, which means the severity of skin lesions increases with the increasing of food glycemic load.3.The serum levels of IGF-1,IGFBP-3,AD,DHT,DHEAS were positively related with GAGS scores in acne vulgaris, which means with the increase of serum IGF-1,AD,DHT and DHEAS levels and the decrease of serum IGFBP-3 level in patients with acne vulgaris, the severity of skin lesions increased.
