Objective: The aim of the study was to identify that the polymorphism in rs1229987,rs671 and rs4646778 is probably associated with the risk of T2DM;To provide further more information on the interaction of alcohol consumption and polymorphisms of ADH1B(rs1229984)?ALDH2(rs671,rs4646778)on T2 DM in a Chinese population. Methods: We conducted a case-control study in Wuhan Tong Ji Hospital from December 2004 to December 2016.This case-control study recruited 755 cases and 759 healthy controls who were matched with T2 DM group in age(± 5-year-old).All the participants accepted questionnaire and physibal ecamination.Diagnose T2 DM with OGTT or Fasting blood.2 SNPs in ALDH2 and 1 SNP in AHD1 B were selected and genotyped using the Sequenom Mass Array platform.Odds ratios(ORs)and 95% confidence intervals(CIs)were calculated using unconditional logistic regression after adjusting for age, gender,BMI,family history of T2 DM and hypertension.Statistical analysis was performed with SPSS software, version 23.0.0.05 was a cutoff for significance. Results: We determined that ethanol consumption is significantly associated with a type 2 diabetes,OR = 1.65(1.27,2.15),P < 0.05.In drinking people, individuals with rs671 GA/AA(OR = 0.61,95%CI:0.38,0.99,P < 0.05)may be ralated to the dcreased risk of T2 DM.Interaction of rs671 polymorphism and drinking(P < 0.05)may be related to the increased risk of T2DM?Conclusions: ALDH2 gene rs671 polymorphisms was associated with the risk of T2 DM.In drinking individuals, people with rs671(GA+AA)genotype reduce the risk of T2 DM.Interaction of ALDH2 gene rs671 polymorphisms and drinking may be related with the increased risk of T2 DM.
