Sequence Therapy For Temporomandibular Disorders

BACKGROUNDTemporomandibular joint disorder,also known as temporomandibular joint disorder syndrome,and Costen's syndrome,is one of the most common diseases in the oral and maxillofacial regions.The temporomandibular joint disorder is not specific to a certain disease.It refers to a series of functions or organic lesions that occur in the temporomandibular joint skeleton,muscles,and joints,a group of diseases that have the same or similar symptoms.The data show that in addition to dental caries,periodontal disease and malocclusion,the temporomandibular joint disorder syndrome is ranked as the fourth oral common and frequently-occurring disease.Patients with milder conditions may have tympano-mandibular joints with open and closed jaws,open-type abnormalities,and pain in the joint area.Those with severe conditions may have a qualitative lesion that may cause temporomandibular joint dysfunction,limited mouth opening,inability to eat,etc,which has caused both physical and psychological problems to the patient.More importantly,the cause of the disease is not yet fully understood and is related to many factors such as psychosocial factors,occlusal factors,immune factors,excessive joint load,joint anatomy,and other factors.These factors are intricate,intertwined,and affect each other,eventually leading to the occurrence of temporomandibular joint disease.At this stage,because the etiology is not yet clear,so the treatments are not the same.There is no standard treatment at domestic and abroad.The Department of Orthopedics,Guangzhou Stomatological Hospital Affiliated Stomatology Department,to take sequence therapy of the temporomandibular joint disorder diagnosis and treatment.The purpose of this study was to summarize the curative effect of periarthritis patients withtemporomandibular joint disorders in patients with temporomandibular joint disorders at the Guangzhou Medical University,and to compare the patient's self-perception,in order to provide reference for the majority of stomatologists in the clinical treatment of such patients..Through some case presentations,we retrospectively shared experiences in the diagnosis and treatment of temporomandibular disorders and explored new ideas and new approaches for the diagnosis and treatment of temporomandibular disorders.OBJECTIVETo discuss the diagnosis and treatment of temporomandibular disorders in the temporomandibular joint department of the Stomatological Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University.METHODS1.In the temporomandibular joint department of the Affiliated Stomatologi cal Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University,according to the research needs,patients with temporomandibular joint disorder who met the inclusion criteria and were not included in the exclusion criteria were selected to obtain all the medical records and examination data of these patients in our hospital.2.To collect and sort out the data before and after treatment of patients with temporomandibular joint disease that were included in the study,how to t reat what kind of treatment,and the patient's pain,joint squeaking and self-sen sation before and after treatment.To curative effect was judged to some extent,the imaging data of the patients were collected and processed,and the effects of different treatment methods on the anterior disc displacement and bone resor ption of the temporomandibular joint were compared before and after treatment.3.Summarize and compare the treatment methods and efficacy of all thes e patients before and after treatment,draw a curative effect evaluation of patie nts with temporomandibular joint disorders treated by the treatment plan,and t hen find relevant domestic and foreign literature data to objectively analyze thefeasibility and practicability of sequence therapy for temporomandibular disorder s for temporomandibular joint patients treated by temporomandibular joint depar tment,Affiliated Stomatological Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University.RESULTS1.We successfully collected a certain number of patients with various temporomandibular disorders.2.To sort out the medical records and imaging data of patients with temporomandibular disorders,and to summarize and compare the patients' treatment plan,efficacy before and after treatment,pain,impact and self-perception.3.Through comparative analysis,it was found it can bring about joint significant improvement of squeaking,joint pain and patient self-feeling under the sequential treatment to diagnose and manage the temporomandibular joint disorder patients that maed by temporomandibular joint department of Guangzhou Medical University Affiliated Stomatological Hospital.Imaging analysis showed that sequential treatment can improve the patient's temporomandibular joint anterior disc displacement and joint bone resorption to some extent.Most patients have deeper understanding of the disease,and the tolerance threshold for the disease is higher than before the diagnosis.CONCLUSIONThe sequential treatment of temporomandibular joint disorders in the temporomandibular joint department of the Stomatological Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University is feasible and practical.It can be used for reference by the majority of stomatologists..
