Objective:Comparison of the clinical effect of the right side and subxiphoid approache in performing video-assisted thoracoscopic thymectomy. This study investigated the usefulness of the VATS thymectomy by subxiphoid approach.Method:A retrospective analysis of 122 patients who were treated in our department from January 2016 to December 2017.They were diagnosed as thymoma and performed thoracoscopic surgery. They were divided into 2 groups.Group 1,62 cases performed VATS thymectomy by subxiphoid approache.Group 2,60 cases performed VATS thymectomy by right side.Analysing the data(operative time?bleeding volume?number of thoracotomy?Drainage time?postoperative hospital stay?postoperative complications?total mass of pathological specimens?postoperative bleeding?myasthenia gravis crisis? ventilator).Using statistical theory to analyze the data.Result:There was no statistical difference between the two groups regarding operative time, bleeding volume, drainage time, postoperative hospital stay, ventilator, postoperative complications.(P>0.05)There was statistical difference between the two groups regarding total mass of pathological specimens.(P<0.05)There is no thoracotomy, postoperative complications, myasthenia gravis crisis,Incisional infection.Conclusion:1.The two operations are safe and feasible, and have achieved the purpose of the operation.2.The resection range of VATS thymectomy by subxiphoid approache is larger.3.The postoperative recovery speed was similar and the incidence of postoperative complications was almost the same.
