Objective: To investigate the expression of lncRNA MALAT1 in plasma of hepatocellular carcinoma patients, its clinical significance, patients prognosis and the relationship among MALAT1,MMP9 and VEGF.Method: QRT-PCR was employed to determine the expression of MALAT1.Serum MMP9 and VEGF level was measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.Patients were divided into high and low expression group according to the level of MALAT1 in plasma. To analyze the relationship between the expression of MALAT1,the clinical features and VEGF,MMP9 in patients with HCC.Results:There were significant differences in the clinical stage and metastasis of the tumor in different levels of MALAT1 expression(P<0.05).Age,sex,Child-pugh grade, serum AFP level, histological grading,HBV infection, hepatic cirrhosis in two groups showed no significant difference.Kaplan-Meier survival analysis showed that the survival time of MALAT1 in high expression group was shorter than low expression group and the difference wasst atistically significant(P<0.01).COX multivariate regression analysis showed that the expression of MALAT1,age,Child-pugh grade, tumor stage, and metastasis were independent risk factors for the prognosis of HCC patients(P<0.05).Spearman correlation analysis revealed that the expression of MALAT1 was correlated with the expression of MMP9 and VEGF(P < 0.01).Conclusion: HCC patients with high expression of MALAT1 in plasma have a poor survival time and are prone to metastasis.
