Objective To evaluate of the incidence of thrombosis in patients with acute myeloid leukemia and study the influencing factors of thrombotic events in patients with acute myeloid leukemia. Methods We studied 126 cases of newly diagnosed acute myeloid leukemia in Department of Hematology, the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University. Before the treatment, the number of white blood cells, the number of platelets?PLT?,D-dimer,activated partial thromboplastin time?APTT?,prothrombin time?PT?,fibrinogen and other related coagulation indexes were detected before the treatment. Then, single factor statistical analysis was used to analyze the difference of coagulation laboratory indexes between thrombus group, non thrombus group and normal control group.Multivariate analysis was used to screen the influencing factors of thromboembolic events in patients with acute myeloid leukemia. Results During the follow-up period of 266 days, the incidence of thrombosis was 6.3%.A total of 8?6.3%?patients had thromboembolic events, including 7?5.5%?patients had venous thrombosis and 1 patient developed?0.8%?arterial thrombosis events. No recurrent thromboembolic events occurred during the follow-up period. The incidence of thrombosis after the first course of chemotherapy was 62.5%.The average white blood cell count of AML patients with thrombotic events was 54.1?9.6-144?×1012/L.There were statistically significant differences in the D-dimer,Fi B and platelet count between the patients with acute myelocytic leukemia?thrombus group and non thrombotic group?and the normal control group. The statistical results of thrombus group and no thrombus group showed that:D-dimer,initial peripheral blood leukocyte count and age were significantly associated with thrombosis.but, other characteristics of patients, such as fibrinogen and platelet count, sex, type of leukemia?FAB typing?,karyotype, and so on,all have nothing to do with thrombosis. Conclusions The incidence of thrombosis in AML patients was 6.3%,and most occurred during induction chemotherapy.Age,initial peripheral blood leucocyte count and D-dimer are closely related to thrombosis in patients with acute myeloid leukemia.
