Objective To analyze nutritional risk and nutritional status, understand the application of nutritional risk, nutritional status and nutritional support to postoperative complications of the hospitalized patients with gastric cancer. Methods 181 patients with gastric cancer hospitalized in our hospital from January 2015 to January 2018 were consecutively enrolled in this study.Nutritional risk screening by NRS2002 and assessment of nutritional status by PG-SGA were performed in their first 24 hours in hospital.Their BMI,serum biochemical indices were measured and their state of preioperative nutritional support and postoperative complications were collected at the same time.Results(1)The age was positively correlated with NRS 2002 and PG-SGA(p<0.05).The ALB,PA,TF,HGB,BMI,body weight were negatively correlated with NRS2002 and PG-SGA(p<0.05),and the body height was not correlated with NRS2002 and PG-SGA(p>0.05).There was a poor consistency between NRS2002 and PG-SGA score(Kappa= 0.357,p<0.01).(2)The total nutritional support rate was 33.15% in perioperative period,it mainly based on enteral nutrition. The nutritional support rate in the nutritional risk group(NRS2002?3)wassignificantly higher than the no nutritional risk group(NRS2002 < 3)(p <0.05);The nutritional support rate in the malnutrition group was 36.6%,which was higher than the eutrophy group(20.5%),but the difference was not statistical significance. In the patients with nutritional risk or malnutrition, those had nutritional support were lower than those had not about the perioperative complications.(3)According to the Clavien–Dindo classification, the overall complication rate was 12.2 %,with the severe complications classified as grade III or above accounting for 5.5 %.The rate of severe complications in the malnutrition group and nutritional risk group were higher than the eutrophy group and the no nutritional risk group.Conclusion(1)The combination of NRS2002,PG-SGA,BMI,serum biochemical indices may be more helpful to reflect nutritional state in patients with gastric cancer.(2)NRS2002 and PG-SGA have some guiding significance for nutritional support therapy of gastric cancer in perioperative period.(3)It was pressing to treat by nutritional support for patients with poor nutritional state. The Clavien–Dindo classification play an important role in reflecting the effects of nutritional risks and conditions on postoperative complications.
