Objective:To describe the current quality of life of patients with skull defect after decompressive craniectomy because of traumatic brain injury, and explore the influencing factors that affect the quality of life in order to provide available methods and references by formulating clinical nursing intervention measures which can improve their quality of life.Methods:202 patients from hospitals of Suzhou city who received decompressive craniectomy because of traumatic brain injury were selected as a convenience sample. At a month after discharge, the general information questionnaire and the quality of life after brain injury(QOLIBRI)were used to assess demographics and disease data of patients and their quality of life.Excel software was used to establish a database and SPSS24.0 was used to analysis the data. The main statistical methods include descriptive statistical analysis,single-factor variance analysis, independent sample t test, and multiple linear regression analysis. Results:The score of overall QOL was 66.52±12.18,cognition QOL was 58.96±11.86,emotion and self perception was 59.01±10.99,daily life and autonomy QOL was58.45±11.9,social QOL was 61.50±11.67,negative QOL was 56.61±14.04,problems and restrictions QOL was 55.19±12.9 and overall bothered QOL was 60.00±18.93.One-way analysis of variance showed that different age, different residence, different marital status, different fertility status and living conditions, the degree of different culture, different occupation, family income, medical treatment charge payment,GCS score on admission, whether the midline shift, postoperative complications, and rehabilitation therapy, defect place, bone window area and single/double side defect have difference to the quality of survival on each dimension, the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).Conclusion:1.The quality of life of postoperative patients with skull defect is low,its influence factors are: age, marital status, living conditions, cultural level, occupation, payment, rehabilitation, defect place, bone window area and single/double side defect.2.Clinical medical staff should pay more attention to patient's age, marital status, living conditions, cultural level, occupation, payment, rehabilitation, defect place, bone window area and single/double side defect, for the controllable factors influencing taking positive intervention measures,in order to improve the patients' quality of life.
