Objective To investigate influence factors of the Circle of Willis(CW)in patients with stenosis of the internal carotid artery(ICA),hoping to find some methods to improve collaterals in patients with stenosis of the ICA.Methods We defined the opening of the Circle of Willis through the digital subtraction angiography(DSA),then divided these patients into two groups, one group is of an open CS while the other is not.We analyzed the clinical data, such as gender, age, mean blood pressure(MBP),blood glucose, triglyceride(TC),cholesterol(TG),low density lipoprotein(LDL),apo-B,C reactive protein, history of smoking, history of transient ischemic attacks(TIA)or stroke and contralateral,of patients with moderate and severe stenosis of the ICA and the relationship between the completion of the Circle of Willis and the clinical data. Results There were no differences in clinical data of age, blood glucose,,TC,TG,LDL,apo-B,C-reactive protein, gender and the history of smoking in both group with complete and incomplete Circle of Willis(P > 0.05).While there were differences in blood pressure before DSA,history of stroke or TIA,contralateral internal carotid artery stenosis(P <0.05).Binary Logistic showed that it was an independent factor contributed to the completion of the Circle of Willis that whether there was contralateral ICA stenosis(P<0.01).Conclusion Contralateral ICA stenosis was an independent factor contributed to the open of the Circle of Willis.Patients with contralateral ICA stenosis is more likely to have poor Willis collateral circulation. The level of MBP was an independent factor contributed to the open of the CW.In some extent, the elevation of MBP is beneficial to the open of the CW. |
