Objective:To evaluate the effect on postoperative complications of mixed hemorrhoid such as postoperative pain, anus edema and constipation treated with electroacupuncturing at Chengshan(BL 57),Dachangshu(BL 25)and Erbai(EX-UE2).Method:A total of 60 patients with mixed hemorrhoids were randomly divided into two groups,30 cases in each one.Except of the basic treatment, the electroacupuncture was applied at Chengshan(BL 57),Dachangshu(BL 25)and Erbai(EX-UE2)30 min each of the three days after operation in the electroaccupuncture group, while the control group was just given basic treatment after operation. The symptom score, first defecation time after surgery and the use of pain medication were recorded after daily treatment. To evaluate the improved condition of postoperative complications by comparing with the symptom score, the first defecation time and the total amount of painkillers was used.Results:(1)The control group and the electroacupuncture group were effective in the treatment of postoperative pain and edema(P<0.05),but the electroacupuncture group took effect quickly(P<0.05).(2)On the first day after operation, the differences in the improvement of symptoms were not significant statistically between the electroacupuncture group and the control group(P>0.05).On the 2nd and 3rd days after operation, the symptoms of anal pain, anal pendant expansion and hematochezia were obviously improved in the electroacupuncture group compared with the control group(P<0.05).(3)The first bowel symptom score between the two groups had no differents(P>0.05).Both the electroacupuncture group and the control group had an improved effect on constipation(P<0.05),but the improvement of the electroacupuncture group was more obvious(P<0.05).The electroacupuncture group was earlier than the control group on the first defecation time after surgery(P<0.05).(4)The overall effective rate of the electroacupuncture group was 96.67%,higher than the control group of 76.67%(P<0.05).(5)The total amount of painkillers taken during the treatment of electroacupuncture group was less than that of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Electroacupuncture have certain advantages in reducing the symptoms of anal pain, anal pendant expansion and constipation after operation for mixed hemorrhoid.
