BackgroundMaxillary impacted canine is a common malocclusion deformity in clinic,Its etiology is complex and its types are varied. The clinical manifestations are different, which not only affects the integrity of dentition, but also affects the oral function, beauty and mental health of patients, and even causes the root resorption, tooth loss and so on,it makes orthodontic treatment more complex. In orthodontic treatment,in order to great occlusal function and improve the beauty of anterior teeth, more and more doctors and patients choose retain the canine as far as possible. With the development and innovation of image technology, the application of CBCT is more accurate to describe the three-dimensional position of the impacted canine, this study intends to discussed the clinical features of the root absorption of lateral incisors, combined with the domestic and foreign relevant research, the etiology of the maxillary canine impactions were reviewed,Analysis of the effects, which are caused by the impacted canine on the root absorption of the adjacent teeth, are used to provide the corresponding treatment for clinical orthodontic.Aim:This research mainly using cone beam CT three-dimensional imaging technology,to analysis the root absorption of lateral incisors in the maxillary caused by ipsilateral mesioangular impacted canine, and evaluate the possible risks and the prognosis of orthodontic treatment,to provide reference for orthodontic treatment.Materials and methods:Selected 30 cases of teenagers with lateral incisors root absorption caused by ipsilateral mesioangular impacted canine from May 2015 to May 2017 treated in our hospital as the research object, analyzing the cone beam CT data, obtaining Mimics17.0 software for 3D imaging,to analysis the clinical feature of the root absorption of the lateral incisors was caused by the mesioangular impacted canine in the upper jaw. Results:The study found that the maxillary incisive canines with ipsilateral incisor root resorption occurred mainly in women,of which Class malocclusion accounted for ?53.3%;while the cusp position mostly in the lateral incisor long axis near the middle part, accounting for 78.6 %;Canine and incisor root contact accounted for 90.5%;and no significant difference in the palatal obstruction. Conclusion:Root absorption of the lateral incisors caused by the mesioangular impacted canine occurred mainly in Class ?patients, mainly in women, lateral incisors are more absorbed, while the more prone to severe central incisor absorption.
