The upper airway is a lumen structure wrapped around the soft and hard tissue of the surrounding maxillofacial region,it is a respiratory system above the lower rim of the cricoid cartilage.Adjacent to the mouth and the nasal cavity, and participate in the important functions of respiration, speech, swallowing and so on,it is an important part of the human body to maintain life. Many studies have shown that the osseous and soft tissue structures of the skull base, the upper and the lower jaw,the cervical spine and the surrounding soft tissue are all important factors in determining the upper airway form.Malocclusion,as a common malformation with high incidence of craniofacial development, has a certain effect on the morphology of the upper airway, the morphological and functional abnormalities of the upper airway may also have a certain effect on the development of craniofacial. In recent years, more and more research on upper airway morphology, mainly airway morphological difference of upper airway form, all kinds of class differences in patients with different vertical facial types,as more and more young people are concerned with malocclusion, however, there was no related study of the upper airway and its craniofacial structure in young women with sagittal bone face. Therefore, under the premise of 18-25 year old young women with different sagittal facial types, this study explores the morphology and function of the upper airway, and provides a reference for clinical research and orthodontic treatment. Objective: The head side of the 18-25 year old female was photographed and the sleep test was performed, the data of cephalometric and sleep detection were analyzed,to study the relationship between the age of 18-25 young women in different sagittal skeletal pattern and upper airway morphology and function, and explore the effects of18-25 young women in different sagittal skeletal pattern on upper airway morphology and function, pathogenesis, for young women in different sagittal skeletal pattern of clinical diagnosis, treatment and prevention to provide clinical reference.Method: According to the inclusion criteria,60 cases of patients were collected and treated jointly by the stomatology center of Qingdao municipal hospital and the sleep testing center of Department of ENT(ear nose throat)in December 2017 June 2016,the object of study, according to the ANB angle were divided into skeletal class(0.7°≤ANB≤4.7°),skeletal Class Ⅱ(ANB > 4.7 °),skeletal Class Ⅲ(ANB < 0.7 °),20 cases in each group. The morphology of the upper airway and the indexes of sleep detection were measured, and the three groups of data were analyzed by SPSS20.0statistical software, the effects of different sagittal bone types on the upper airway morphology and function of 18-25 year old women were analyzed. Results :1.The relationship between the shape of different sagittal bone and the morphology of upper airway in 18-25 year old women There were significant differences in the sagittal diameter U-MPW and MPS of the upper airway form of the osseous group Ⅰ,the skeletal Class Ⅱ group and the osseous class Ⅲ class(P < 0.05),among the most narrow and uvula pharyngeal airway sagittal diameter(U-MPW)between the three groups, there were significant differences between class Ⅰ and class Ⅱ,class Ⅰ and Ⅲ,class Ⅱ and class Ⅲ(P < 0.05),the two groups of the three groups of the posterior airway sagittal diameter(MPS)of the soft palate were compared, there were significant differences between class Ⅰ and class Ⅱ groups as well as group Ⅱ and group Ⅲ(P <0.05),and there was no significant difference in the sagittal diameter of the other upper airway.2.The relationship between different sagittal bone types and upper airway function inyoung women of 18-25 years of age There were no significant differences in mean SpO2,mean pulse rate, oxygen reduction index and respiratory disturbance index(AHI)between skeletal class Ⅰ group, skeletal Class Ⅱ group and skeletal Class Ⅲ group(P>0.05).There was no significant difference between class Ⅰ and class Ⅰ,class Ⅰ,class Ⅰ and class Ⅲ,class Ⅱ and class Ⅲ(P > 0.05).Conclusion:1.There is statistical significance between the upper airway U-MPW and MPS sagittal diameter in the oropharynx segment.2.There is no statistical significance between the three groups of sagittal bone surface and upper airway function, that is,there is no correlation bewteen different sagittal bone surface types and upper airway function in 18-25 year female.
