Background and objectives The incidence of prostate cancer in our country shows a trend of increasing year by year.Especially in economically developed cities, the incidence is much higher than the national average. In 2015,the incidence of prostate cancer in Beijing reached 20.24/10 million. Therefore,it is very significant to look for the risk factors and protective factors for prostate cancer, especially those that can self-regulation,in order to provide a basis for the prevention of prostate cancer. At the same time,we compared the frequency of sexual life with different pathological Gleason scores to find out whether the relationship between the malignant degree of prostate cancer and the frequency of sexual life is related or not. This study investigated the impact of frequency of sexual life on the incidence of prostate cancer by comparing the frequency of life at different ages in populations living in Beijing with prostate cancer cases and those without prostate cancer. Methods We selected 202 patients with prostate cancer as case group who lived in Beijing for more than 20 years aged 50 to 79 years who were diagnosed by puncture or operation pathology from January 2016 to December 2017 in PLA General Hospital urology department.198 patients aged 50-79 years living in Beijing for a long time PSA<4 ng/mL,ultrasound examination found no peripheral nodules in the prostate other urological patients as a control group.Using questionnaires and telephone interviews,we investigated the frequency of life, marital history, age of first ejaculation, alcohol consumption and smoking in different age groups. We stratified the frequency of sexual life in different age groups. The collected data were statistically analyzed by statistical software SPSS 19.Result With the least frequency of sex life as the baseline,Logistic regression analysis was used to calculate OR and 95%CI for different age groups. We found that the frequency of sexual life in different age groups have different effects on the incidence of prostate cancer. The frequency of sexual life in the age group of 20 to 39 years old, there was no significant difference between the case group and the control group(P>0.05).In the 40 to 49 years and 50 years of age after, the increase of the frequency of sexual activity has a protective effect to the prostate cancer. In particular, there was a statistically significant difference between groups of more than 12 times per month and no more than 4 times. The age-adjusted OR and 95%CI were 0.31(0.14-0.69)and 0.28(0.09-0.89),respectively,and P<0.05.Moreover,the protective effect of the age group of over 50 years old compared with the age group of 40-49 years is more obvious. Conclusion For men over the age of 40,the increase in the frequency of ejaculation has a protective effect on the incidence of prostate cancer. And over the age of 50 relative to 40 to 49 ages group more protective effect. In particular, the frequency of sexual life more than 12 times per month was statistically different from those of less than 4 times. We compared the frequency of sexual activity in patients with prostate cancer at various degrees of malignancy. There was no statistically significant difference in ejaculation frequency between the two groups of pathological Gleason score greater than or equal to 8 points and 6 to 7 points.
