Mammogram Retrieval Method Considering Both Nidus-location And Image Content

Breast cancer of women in developed countries and developing countries is one of the most common invasive cancers,and has a high mortality rate.Mammograms retrieval can help radiologists to improve the precision and efficiency of breast cancer detection and diagnosis.Content-based Medical Image Retrieval(CBMIR)usually plays a significant role in the mammogram retrieval.In addition to the content feature of mammogram,the location information of nidus can also be important to help radiologists detect breast cancer in practical application.In this paper,a new mammogram retrieval method is put forward that both considering nidus-location and image content of mammogram.There are two main aspects.The first one is to establish retrieval index structure of mammograms.The content feature and the location feature of database mammograms are extracted,and are integrated to get comprehensive features.Next according to the methods of content similarity measure and the nidus-location similarity measure to establish the retrieval index structure.The second is to retrieve the similar mammogram to query mammogram,the same as the mammograms of mammogram database,the query mammogram should be extracted the content feature and the location feature.And the content feature and the location feature form the comprehensive features of query of mammogram.According to the methods of content and the nidus-location similarity measure,the query mammogram retrieve similar mammogram in the retrieval index structure.Next according to the comprehensive similarities return the retrieval results,the retrieval results can be got.After test,the method is proved to retrieve mammograms.And the location similarity of nidus account for 40%of comprehensive similarity,and the content similarity account for 60%of comprehensive similarity,the result of retrieval is best.Based on the method put forward above,this paper designs and realizes the mammogram retrieval system both considering nidus-location and image content of mammogram.According to the system requirement analysis,this paper has carried on the system summary design,detailed design and system test.This paper designs the user management module,index module and builds query mammogram retrieval module and realizes its function.Finally this paper has carried on the test analysis to the system by using the unit test,integration test and function test,and debugs the system module function of availability and integrity.
