This paper is to complete a set of computer software system.This software system can not onlyprovide much pathological data offer,but also provide many interacting components.The software system is to facilitate doctors checking the kidney lesions and making reasonable treatment plan.The system is designed by using VTK and ITK toolkit on the VS2010 platform.The software system can be divided into 5 functional modules: image reader,image enhancement,image segmentation,3D reconstruction and interactive tools.This thesisdetails the functions of five modules,and the specific description of sequence is as follows:Firstly,the paper introduces the module of DICOM image reading and writing.The module includes the functions of DICOM image display,the extraction of the region of interesting,the basic information extraction and the gray histogram statistics.Secondly,the thesis introduces two methods of image enhancement:median filtering and mean filtering.It describes the two filtering principles before it elaborates how to use ITK and VTK toolkit to achieve median filtering and mean filtering.Thirdly,the image segmentation module is introduced.It implements the threshold segmentation method,the region growing method and a hybrid segmentation method based on fuzzy connectedness and confidence degree of connection.In the description of the module,itsummarizesthe advantages and disadvantages of the current image segmentation algorithms.Then,it describes how to realize threshold segmentation method,region growing method and the hybrid segmentation methodbased on fuzzy connectedness and confidence degree of connection.At lasts,it makes a conclusion: the hybrid segmentation method based on fuzzy connectedness and confidence degree of connection is better than the other methods when using to segment kidney tissue.Fourthly,it describes the 3D reconstruction in this module,which includes contour extraction,marching cubes method and ray casting method.In this module description,it compares the pros and cons of the volume rendering and surface rendering.Then it elaborates contour extraction,marching cubes and ray casting principle.At last,it describes how to realize the three methods.Finally,the interactive function module is introduced,which includes the function of image zooming,rotating,measuring,tagging and segmenting.
