Analysis On The Current Status And The Influence Factors Of Drug Abuse Among Teenagers Without Medical Purposes In Jiangxi Province

Objective: To get information on the current status of drug abuse among teenagers in jiangxi province and analyze its influencing factors,and to provide reference for monitoring and intervention work for teenage substance abuse.Methods: 2166 people,including 401 teenagers under the age of 25 who were admitted by four rehabilitation institutions and 1715 students from four schools in jiangxi province(including 25 drug abusers,1.46%),selected by using stratified cluster sampling method were surveyed.Drug abusers who were admitted by a compulsory isolated detoxification center in Jiangxi and all students in school were surveyed.To analyze the data by using descriptive analysis,t-test,chi-square test,the general Logistic regression analysis and multi-level models.Results:(1)The average age of 426 teenage drug abusers was 22.07±2.45 years old.They were mostly male(86.38%),junior high school degree(62.44%),unemployed(61.27%)and unmarried(80.05%).Their mainly living conditions were living with family(48.12%)and peer(32.39%).The frequencies of synthetic drug abuse were higher than those of traditional drugs in the psychoactive substance used in the last 12 months and used most frequently.The psychoactive substance used most frequently was methamphetamine(69.95% and 67.84%,respectively).The average age of first drug abuse was 18.27±2.15 years old.The main usage mode is inhalation(60.80%).The main way of attaining were provided by peer(73.71%)and entertainment places(24.41%).The major using places were hotels or restaurants(50.47%),friends(26.53%),residence places(18.31%)and nightclubs or karaoke bars(18.08%).Pursuit of euphoria or stimulation(40.38%),satisfying the curiosity(30.05%)and for pleasure(26.53%)were main reasons.(2)Multiariable logistic regression model showed that peers’ drug abuse behavior(OR=10.985,95%CI=4.872 ~ 28.550),familys’ drug abuse behavior(OR=8.196,95%CI=2.596~25.882),curious about addictive substance(OR=3.594,95%CI= 1.003~9.624)and liking addictive substance(OR=3.434,95%CI=1.845~9.402),easy to kick after active substance addiction(OR=3.461,95%CI=2.081~5.076),almost no communication with their parents(OR=2.748,95%CI=1.084~5.367),liking the stimulus(OR=1.627,95%CI=1.060 ~ 2.498),and smoking(OR=1.505,95%CI=1.032~4.038)were risk factors for teenage drug abuse.Conclusion:(1)The psychoactive substance used most frequently was methamphetamine.There was phenomenon that teenage substance abuser used psychoactive drug such as compound liquorice tablets,cough syrup,tramadol,diazepam and so on without medical purposes at the same time.Teenage substance abuser were mostly male,junior high school degree,unemployed and unmarried.(2)More attention should be paid to this phenomenon that adolescents abuse synthetic drugs and psychoactive drug without medical purposes.Teenagers who are young age,low education,unemployed,unmarried and male should be intervened and monitored.(3)Influencing factors on teenage drug abuse include peers’ drug abuse behavior,familys’ drug abuse behavior,communication with their parents,attitude and knowledge of addictive substances,and smoking.
