The Relationship Between Depression And The Classmate Social Network Of Junior Middle School Students

Two studies were studied to explore the quantitative relationship between the degree of depression of junior high students and the Social Network of them.The effects of two measuring methods of depressed was assessed through self-report and reactive measurement.Study 1: It was studied that the ralationship between the degree of depressed mood of junior high students and the Social network of them through self report by traditional questionaires.The degree of depression was measured with 13 depression entrys of SCL-90 and SDS in a class.Inquiry Form on the Relationship Between Students in Class was Compilled and analyzed the Centrality of the Social Network of the junior high students.It was found that,based on the measurement through personal statement,there was no significant correlation between the degree of depression of junior high students and the centrality of their Social Network including Degree,Betweenness and Closeness.Study 2: It was studied that the relationship between the degree of depression of junior high students and the social network of them through experimental measurement.The degree of depression was measured through the two tasks of the paradigm of Stroop of depressing words.The exp.1a requires that the testee determines the meanings of the depressing words,and the exp.1b requires that the testee determines the colors of the depressing words.The result is that,based on reactive experimental measurement,there was significant positive correlation between the degree of depression of junior high students and the centrality of their Social Network,Conclusions:1.there was significant positive correlation between the degree of depression of junior high students and the centrality of their social network according to reactive experimental measurement.2.The reactive experimental measuring method was more effective.
