In recent years, clinical individualized treatment approach has attracted widespread attention of researchers,The primary problem of Clinical individualized treatment is solve the problem of the sensitivity of cancer drugs.Thymidylate synthase(TS)is a key enzyme in DNA synthesis and is a potentially valuable marker since it is the molecular target of 5-FU.Several recent studies have show that gene polymorphisms of TS are associated with the efficacy of 5-Fluorouracil chemotherapy because TS expression may be determined by gene polymorphisms of TS.Therefore, there is association between gene polymorphisms of TS and chemosensitivity to cancer chemotherapy.Improve the patient's clinical effectiveness of drugs, reduce the use of other drugs may cause serious side effects, provide an important basis for clinical individualized treatment of cancer patients. This review will discuss clinically relevant examples of TS gene polymorphisms and the outcome of cancer chemotherapy.
