Objective:To analysis the distribution of iris insertion(IRI)among primary open angle glaucoma(POAG)patients?primary angle-closure glaucoma(PACG)patients and normal eye using Ultrasound biomicroscopy(UBM)image.Material and methods:76 patients were enrolled the study: including 21 cases(21 eyes)of POAG,33cases(33 eyes)of PACG and 22 cases(22 eyes)of normal peoples respectively. All the patients received UBM examination on superior?inferior?nasal, and temporal four quadrant, and the iris insertion are classified three types: the basal, middle, and apical, and each quadrant of the images were recorded and analyzed. At the same time, all the participants have to accept the slit lamp,Intraocular pressure,A scan,Phoropter several eye specialist examination.we compared and analyzed the differences of the following parameter data: axial length, anterior chamber depth, the central corneal thickness and spherical equivalent between the three groups.Results:1.Basic information: it isn't showed any significant difference(P>0.05)among POAG patients?PACG patients and normal eye group in gender; The age of POAG patients?PACG patients and normal eye group are 60.19±10.50?63.26±10.68 and68.46±9.50 respectively, there is some significantly different(P <0.05)among POAG patients and normal eye group in age.2.The difference analysis of iris insertion: the superior quadrant of the basal type of POAG patients,PACG patients and normal eye the three groups are 17(81%),27(82%),18(82%);The middle are(14%),six(18%),4(19%);The apical are 1(5%)0(0%),0(0%)respectively,and there is no statistically significant difference between the three groups(P=0.185).the inferior quadrant of the basal type of POAG patients,PACG patients and normal eye the three groups are 11(52%),26(79%),11(50%);The middle are 10(48%),six(18%),11(50%);The apical are 0(0%),1(3%)0(0%)respectively,and there is no statistically significant difference between the three groups(P=0.118).the nasal quadrant of the basal type of POAG patients,PACG patients and normal eye the three groups are 17(81%),27(82%),18(82%);The middle are(14%),six(18%),4(19%);The apical are 1(5%)0(0%),0(0%)respectively,and there is no statistically significant difference between the three groups(P=0.691).the temporal quadrant of the basal type of POAG patients,PACG patients and normal eye the three groups are 17(81%),27(82%),18(82%);The middle are(14%),six(18%),4(19%);The apical are 1(5%)0(0%),0(0%)respectively,and there is no statistically significant difference between the three groups(P=0.270).3.Axial length,AL :The AL of three group(POAG patients?PACG patients and normal eye group)are 24.10±1.69 mm ? 22.48±0.77 mm and 23.36±1.30 mm respectively,There is significant different among PACG patients ? POAG patients group and normal human eye group(F=5.69,P=0.006);4.Anterior chamber depth,ACD: The ACD of three group(POAG patients?PACG patients and normal eye group)are 2.88±0.54 mm ? 2.17±0.53 mm and2.58±0.61 mm respectively, there is statistical significant difference among POAG patients?POAG group and normal human group(F=10.666,P=0.000);5.Central corneal thickness,CCT :The CCT of three group(POAG patients?PACG patients and normal eye group)are 551.68±36.78um;546.64±28.18um;527.58±47.31 um,and it showed no significant differences among POAG patients?POAG group and normal human group(F=1.806,P=0.174);6.Spherical equivalent,SE :The spherical equivalent of three group(POAG patients?PACG patients and normal eye group)are-1.35±2.07DS?0.42±1.38 DS ?-0.50±2.69 DS,there are significantly different among POAG patients?POAG group and normal human group(F=3.285,P=0.041).There is significantly different between POAG patients with PACG patient group(P=0.016);but it showed no significant differences between POAG patients with normal human group and PACG patients with normal eye group(P=0.337,P=0.247).Conclusions:We find there are no significant differences(P> 0.05)on iris insertion in thesuperior?inferior?nasal, and temporal four quadrant of UBM images. And the apical is the most classification among POAG patients?PACG patients and normal human group with UBM.
