The Relationship Between Nutritional Status And Prognosis Of Gastric Cancer Patients With Tumor Necrosis Factor-like Weak Inducer Of Apoptosis

Objective To detect the expression of tumor necrosis factor-like weak inducer of apoptosis(TWEAK)in the patient's rectus and serum who were diagnosed with gastric cancer and abdominal benign disease.Furtherly to explore the relationship between nutritional status and prognosis of gastric cancer patients with the expression of TWEAKMethods Using reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)and Western blot to detect the expression of TWEAK in the patient's rectus who were diagnosed with gastric cancer and abdominal benign disease.Using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)to detect the expression of TWEAK in the serum.Furtherly analysising the differences of the data with the nutritional status and prognosis in gastric cancer patients.Results TWEAK was significantly upregulated in the rectus muscle tissue of patients with gastric cancer compared with the control group.In gastric cancer group,TWEAK was highly expressed in 64.7%(66/102)of the rectus organizations.The upregulated of TWEAK is significantly correlated with gastric cancer patients' body quality loss percentage,serum albumin level and tumor node metastasis(TNM)staging.In the experimental results of ELISA,the TWEAK expression in abdominal benign disease group was significantly lower than gastric cancer group.TWEAK expression of rectus in gastric cancer group was significantly associated with surial.Conclusion TWEAK was upregulated in rectus muscle and serum in patients with gastric cancer.The expression level of TWEAK was significantly related to patients' body quality loss percentage,serum albumin level and TNM staging.TWEAK may play a key role in the process of gastric cancer cachexia.
