The effect of hepatitis B virus on early embryo development is a controversial issue. We consider that the main reason is possibly relate to small sample size, different conditions of patients grouping. Thus, based on the previous published research, this study will enlarge the sample size and unify the conditions of patients grouping to remove some factors effect on the embryo development such as patient age, ovarian function, and method of treatment. All patients were grouped in terms of fertilization and embryo treating method. This systematic study will make us get a more scientific and comprehensive recognition for this question. In this study, the grouping conditions were:1)under the age of 35;2)normal ovarian function;3)super stimulate ovulation control scheme(the scheme);4)no history of other infectious patients into the study object. All qualified patients in our hospital we chose for this study were during the period from May 16,2014 to May 15,2015 and further grouped based on the relative situations of HBV.This study contains 1195 patients,of which 271 patients accept IVF treatment,118 patients accept ICSI treatment and 806 patients accept FET treatment.According to different methods of fertilization, all qualified patients were divided into group IVF(In vitro fertilization-embryo transfer)and group ICSI(Intracytoplasmic sperm injection). Both groups were sub-grouped into four groups based on parental situation of HBV,respectively.IVF group is divided into normal group, positive women and normal men groups, normal women and positive men group, and both positive group;ICSI group is divided into normal group, positive women and normal men groups, normal women and positive men group, and both positive group. The comparison of fertilization rate and excellent embryo rate between groups was carried out.The group FET(frozen embryo transfer)is also divided into normal group, positive women and normal men groups, normal women and positive men group, and both positive group. The comparison of integrated rate and recovery rate between groups was carried out.The statistics results showed that there is no significant difference in the fertilization rate and excellent embryo rate of embryo among IVF group. However, among ICSI group, the fertilization rate of two subgroups(positive women and normal men, both positive)was lower than that of normal group(0.67 vs 0.87,P=0.01;0.61 vs 0.87,P=0.05),while that of the group normal women and positive men showed no significant difference from that of normal group. There is no significant difference in excellent embryo rate among all samples(0.57 vs 0.59 vs 0.54 vs 0.48,P=0.95).Among FET group, there is no differences in recovery rate and integrated rate of embryo(0.99 vs 0.99 vs 0.99 vs 0.97,P=0.53;0.89 vs 0.85 vs 0.87 vs 0.86,P=0.40).In summary, hepatitis B virus showed no effect on the early embryo development in IVF and FET group, but it can reduce the fertilization rate of the positive women and normal men group and both positive group among ICSI group, except for normal women and positive men group. There is no difference in excellent embryo rate in ICSI group. The reason that effect fertility of ICSI maybe HBV infecting the embryo by mother-infant way,and up-regulate the expression of cyclin B,finally made the oocytes arrest in M? period.
