The Effect Of Levonorgestrel-Releasing Intrauterine System (LNG-IUS)(Mirena) On Coagulation And Fibrinolytic

Objective:The effect of levonorgestrel-releasing intrauterine system(LNG-IUS)(Mirena)on coagulation and fibrinolytic function.Methods:66 pre-menopausal women were recruited,whose uterus were placed LNG-IUS.They were divided into three groups according to the disease: group A(endometrial hyperplasia group)29 cases,group B(adenomyosis group)17 cases,group C(endometrial polyp group)20 cases.The coagulation parameters were determined before and 1,3 months after initiation of LNG-IUS,coagulation parameters include prothrombin time(PT),activated partial thromboplastin time(APTT),fibrinogen(FIB),international normalized ratio(INR),prothrombin time activity(PTA),D-dimer(DD),Thrombin-antithrombin III complex(TAT)and Tissue plasminogen activator-inhibitor 1complex.(tPAI-C).Results:There were no significant differences in age and body mass index(P > 0.05)in 66 women who were met the inclusion criteria.There was a significant difference between group A and group B,group B and group C in the PTA group comparison(P < 0.05).There was a significant difference between 0months and 1 months,1 months and 3 months in the time comparison of DD(P < 0.05).The DD in 3 months was lower than that in 0 months and 1 months,and the differencewas significant(P < 0.05).There was no significant difference in the group comparison and time comparison of the Other general coagulation parameters(P > 0.05).There was a significant difference between group A and group B,group A and group C in the t PAI·C group comparison(P < 0.05).There was no significant difference in the group comparison and time comparison of TAT(P > 0.05).Conclusion:Most of the coagulation and fibrinolysis indexes did not change significantly in different diseases after LNG-IUS was placed in the uterus.PTA,DD and tPAI·C were changed in different diseases or different periods after LNG-IUS were placed,but they were all within the normal range.
