Objective:The aim of this study was to determine whether the presence of enhanced atherosclerotic plaque in the intracranial infarcted vessel using high resolution MR imaging and to analyze the trend of plaque enhancement over time. Methods and Methods:The clinical data of 64 patients with ischemic stroke in our hospital from May 2016 to February 2018 were analyzed retrospectively. The location, morphology and enhancement of plaque in infarcted area were analyzed retrospectively.(DWI high signal)to high resolution MR examination interval was divided into early group(less than 4weeks),and the intensity of plaque was determined by three groups: obvious enhancement, mild enhancement and no enhancement.),Medium group(4-12 weeks)and late group(more than 12 weeks),the trend of plaque enhancement over time was analyzed.Data were processed according to SPSS 20.0 statistical software.Kruskal-Wallis H test was used to analyze the relationship between the intensities of patches in the three groups.Spearman correlation coefficient was used to quantify the correlation intensity. Results:Of the 64 patients,54 patients had eccentric plaque and 10 patients had cardiac enhancement.38 cases were located in the middle cerebral artery M1 segment,22 cases were in the basilar artery and 4 cases were in the intracranial segment of the vertebral artery.30 cases of early group,22 cases of intermediate group and 12 cases of advanced group, early group of patients, significantly enhanced in 24 cases, mild enhancement in 4cases,no enhancement in 2 case, the middle group was significantly mild and no enhanced cases were(P <0.05).The intensity of the three groups was statistically significant(P <0.05),and the intensity of the three groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:In patients treated 4 weeks after ischemia, most of the stroke plaque was significantly enhanced;in the early stroke enhancement, the mid and late plaque enhancement weakened or disappeared. The results showed that intracranial atherosclerotic plaque enhancement and acute ischemic stroke are closely linked, intracranial plaque enhancement may be a marker of plaque inflammation.
