Objective:Metabolic syndrome is a clinical disease whose components: dyslipidemia, high blood pressure, insulin resistance and abdominal obesity are associated with inflammatory states, directly increasing coronary heart disease.Risk of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes. It has been recognized that chronic low-grade inflammation is involved in the pathogenesis of diseases such as obesity related insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome.Systemic inflammation is a risk factor for the development of metabolic syndrome. The serum levels of TNF-? and body mass index(BMI),waist circumference, blood pressure, blood glucose were analyzed in patients with metabolic syndrome, and the relationship between TNF-?and body mass index(BMI),waist circumference, blood pressure and blood glucose were studied. For early detection and management of metabolic syndrome. Methods:Serum inflammatory cytokines TNF-? levels in patients with metabolic syndrome(MS group)and normal control group(NC group)were detected, and the body mass index(BMI)and waist circumference of tumor necrosis factor-?(TNF-?)and each component of metabolic syndrome were measured.Systolic blood pressure(SBP),diastolic blood pressure(DBP),fasting blood glucose(FPG),postprandial blood glucose(2hPG),triglyceride(TG),total cholesterol(TC).Low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C)and high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C)were analyzed to investigate the relationship between tumor necrosis factor-?(TNF-?)and metabolic syndrome.Results:1.Serum levels of TNF-? in patients with metabolic syndrome were significantly higher than those in the normal group.TNF-?: metabolic syndrome group:(53.9215.35)pg/ml;normal control group:(22.626.72)pg/ml(t=18.676,P<0.001).The BMI,waist circumference,SBP,DBP,FPG,2hPG,TG,and LDL-C in the metabolic syndrome group were all higher than those in the normal control group, and HDL-C was significantly decreased(p<0.05).However,the difference between the two groups of total cholesterol was not statistically significant(P>O.05).There was no significant difference in gender and age between the two groups(P>0.05).2.In the MS group,TNF-? and BMI(r = 0.316,p <0.01),WC(r = 0.213,p <0.05),2hPG(r = 0.198,p <0.05),TG(r = 0.208,p <0.05)There was a positive correlation between LDL-C(r = 0.197,p <0.05),TNF-? was negatively correlated with HDL-C(r =-0.227,p <0.05),and SBP?DBP?FPG?TC(p>0.05)were not correlated.3.Serum TNF-?was taken as dependent variable,BMIs in each component of metabolic syndrome were used as independent variables.Multivariate linear regression analysis was carried out for BMI-HDL-C entering equation(P< 0.05).Conclusion:1.The level of TNF-? in patients with metabolic syndrome was significantly higher than that in normal controls, and the correlation between TNF-? and MS components was significant, suggesting that These results suggest that TNF-? may be a damaging factor in the development of metabolic syndrome.2.There was a positive correlation between serum TNF-? andBMI?WC?2hPG?TG?LDL-C.BMI?HDL-C may be an independent correlation factor to reflect the change of serum TNF-? level.
